The latest update to Singapore Airlines lounges! SQ have recently soft-launched the T2 Business Class section of the SilverKris Lounge! This is the latest product to be renovated, and while it is not fully completed yet. More or less, the product has been done up, and my god, it is a huge improvement over the old facility. If you need a recap, this is how it looked in the past. This is such a welcoming sight, and passengers no longer actually need to make the trek over to T3 since the difference is much smaller now. I also have it on good footing that they will be having some mobile cart service to offer bespoke cocktails around the lounge soon. This is to make up for the lack of a bar. This lounge will be a welcoming sight for PPS members flying out of T2. It also comes with a brand-new management company, Accor. I am hyped up for this and hope to see the same hospitality level as the Qantas First Lounge, which is under their management as well! I have recently also shared about the first class lounge during my last trip, and that was a very welcoming sight. I am hoping to see the same here. Access Requirements

There are two main tiers of lounges in Singapore. The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge is for KrisFlyer Gold and Star Alliance Gold members flying in Economy Class. Premium passengers as well as PPS Club members are invited to the SilverKris Lounge instead. You will then be able to access either the Business Class Lounge, First Class Lounge, or The Private Room. PPS Solitaire members are invited to the First Class lounge. The Private Room is reserved exclusively for passengers flying in First Class / Suites on Singapore Airlines metal only. Star Alliance Business Class passengers and PPS Club members are invited to this lounge.

Arrival & Location

The lounge is located one level above the main departure floor. It is right opposite the SATS Lounge. It is just a very short walk after clearing security. There are clear signs to be found. This is the same location as before. The business class section is open 24 hours a day.

What an improvement this is over the old lounge. It looks so refreshing now. This is in line with the design profile of the other lounges in the SKL network. Let me give you a brief introduction to the entire area. I love how bright it is now. The lounge comes with an L-shaped entrance, so straight ahead, you have the reception. You are then ushered through. Along the entrance, there are some couches and an overflow sitting area. You can find more seats along the corridor. The bathroom and showers are here near the entrance. I will share more on this later. 

A long entryway leads you into the main space of the lounge. There is an assistance desk here that will be able to assist with any booking issues you might face. You can also find various couches and sitting lined up alongside in groups. Space is very plentiful between the seats. You can also find power outlets within rich, including USB ports. Wi-Fi is always available in the SKL, or you can use the Changi Airport network too.

I’m not so sure if this is the full space or what the lounge will actually look like since I heard some construction in the background. It should be bigger than this. Heading on, you can find a mixture of sofas sitting in the area too. Straight ahead is the main refreshment area, where it is filled with proper dining tables that are suitable for eating. I will circle back to the dining later on. 

To the side is another lounging area, which reminds me of the concept over at T3. There is also a playroom here for the little ones. You also have the typical Singapore Airlines solo cubicle seating and communal tables. It can get really busy here, especially during the morning and evening peaks. Toilets and showers

The Business Class lounge comes with a huge improvement when we are talking about their toilets and showers! This is a huge upgrade from the past! This used to be one of the weakest spots of the lounge in the past. There are four shower suites now. Each of them is in their individual rooms and well-maintained by the staff. They are located near the entrance area. They are the same as the ones in T3 now. You will find a clean, gorgeous, spacious ensuite bathroom with a standing shower. Everything is well maintained, and as usual, you can find Payot amenities. Dental kits are also available.

The toiletries are generic ones, and it is one aspect that SQ can definitely improve on. Perhaps they could collaborate with a nice, fancy brand for a partnership. Something like what Cathay does with Aesop. These suites should be sufficient to keep up with the T2 demand!

Food and Drinks

I did not have much to share on this since I was here when they were having breakfast service. The space is certainly smaller over here as compared to T3. There is only one live station here. They were offering laksa and fish ball noodles on the morning of my visit. This was the centrepiece and highlight. I really love the fish ball noodles, which were heartening to have in the warming. It was so comforting. The fried fish cakes and beancurd were delicious too. 

Besides this, you can also find fruits, yoghurt, pastries, baked beans, hash brown, scrambled eggs, sausages, dim sum, congee, chwee kueh and cheng teng. You can find some pictures of the items here.

For drinks-wise, you can find the usual selections of non-alcoholic drinks such as TWG teas, coffee machines, soft drinks and juices. I really wish that SQ could do better than Marigold!!! Bottled water will also be welcomed. 

For alcohol, there is a pour of champagne, beers, wines and some spirits. It is the same collection as the one in T3. For cocktails, there is no bar over here in T2. They are exploring the idea of having some mobile carts to offer around the lounge. That is a nice way to get around the limitation. It would be nice to have cocktails here. 

Conclusion

From my understanding, this is still not the entire look of the lounge and just a portion. It is still in the midst of completion. I have heard that it is more or less done, perhaps just a more lounging area. With the demand, they could not wait for everything to be done before opening. I love the new management, and there is definitely an improvement in the food and service over here. I also heard that since there is a lack of a bar here, they are exploring the option to have push carts for a mobile bar service. The opening of this facility should also alleviate some of the crowd in the terminal three facility. The difference is less now, and you do not have to make the trek over. I am very surprised not to see any napping areas or recliners here. That might not be necessary since it is mainly for regional. I did still see some pax sleeping on the sofa. Food and drinks are generally very well and squared up to the T3 facility. I would love to be back during other hours.
