From Train Station to the City

The train station in Český Krumlov is located north of the main square and the castle; the walk to the center is 15-20 minutes downhill. Taxis often wait in the parking lot for tired travelers.  It may be worth the CZK 100 ride into town, especially at night.

Attractions

Český Krumlov State Castle and Chateau

The most visited attractions in town and also the best place. Furthermore the castle grounds are free and you can choose to pay to get inside the castle and have a guided tour. Some of the best vantage points for taking pictures are also from the castle, where you can get a whole view of the town. The cloaked bridge and the castle viewing platform are fantastic. The castle itself from 1240 is housed with renaissance and baroque style buildings. It used to be the residence of the Dukes of Krumlov. It is open from 9am till 5pm.

Saint Vitus Church

Another iconic symbol in this town skyline, the form of parallel columns of the church and the tower are definitely recognizable. The interior of the church also deserve a look.

Town Square

Also known as the Svornosti Square, this main square has its history and conspicuous decoration. Most of the activities are also surrounded in the square with many cafes and restaurants being found here.
