From Ferry Terminal to the City

The only way to reach Capri is to take a ferry from either Naples, Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento. It takes roughly around 40 mins from Naples. The port which is known as Marina Grande have a funicular that goes up to Capri Town. If not you could also walk up or take the buses. This port is also the place that boats leave for the Blue Grotto.

The island buses are also available to take you tot he different parts of the island. They cost 1,30 € per ride, €2,80 for 60 minutes unlimited use, or €6,70 plus €1 deposit for unlimited day use

Marina Grande

The main port of Capri, this is also the place where you will dock after arriving. Practically it is the main access point to Capri. It is located at the foot of Mount Solaro. From here you could rent boats and plan day trips to the surrounding waters and also see the amazing Blue Grotto. An amazing sight by itself

Blue Grotto

This amazing gorgeous sea caves is one of the highlights in Capri. Many tourists flock here just to see the magical reflection of the light over the waters. The entrance is small and only one row boat can get through at a time. Boats can be rented from Marina Grande and usually it cost around 20 Euros. The whole trip takes 1 – 3 hours. You could also there by bus from Piazza della Pace in Anacapri.

Faraglioni di Capri

Another natural site to visit in Capri, this amazing natural costal rocks formation is a sight to fall in love with. Anyway you would never know when they will stand still. It could be reach by a boat tour or by hiking all the way to the south of the island. The shear height of the rocks is close to 100 meters and the middle opening of the rocks are also huge enough for a boat to pass through. One of the great spot is Punta di Tragara.

It literally means above Capri, being one of the two towns in Capri, it is located on the slopes of Mount Solaro. Here it is quitter and less touristy, prices are also fairer, the view are amazing with many scent of lemons floating through the air. Although there aren’t any views of the sea here, it is still amazing to stay here and enjoy the true authentic life. Bus connects both Anacapri and Capri.

Mount Solaro

The highest point in the island. This place offers an amazing view of the whole island in addition to the surrounding waters. On a clear day you could even see as far as the bay of Naples. It is accessible by the chairlift from Anacapri, where the ride takes about 15 mins. Prepare for some time at the top as the views are amazing. On the way up you could also see pretty gardens and orchards. The ride starts from the Piazza della Vittoria in Anacapri. The return ride cost 11Euros, from Nov to Feb it is open 9.30am to 3.30pm.

Church of San Michele Arcangelo

The church in Anacapri, it is a very great baroque example in town. If you think that the church is nice, the highlight of this place is not the church itself but the tiles on the floor, which is a mosaic depicting the expulsion of Adam & Eve from paradise, by artist Leonardo Chiaiese.

Arco Naturale

Or known as the Natural Arch it is a rock formation form way before us and is unique in shape and formation. It is located all the way east of the island and on the hike there are many amazing outlooks which are picture perfect and scenic.

Marina Piccola

Located on the other side of the island, this is a much better place to swim at instead of the Grotto or Marina Grande. Bus connections are available here. The place consists of two beach with smooth pebbles and rocks. In the summer months it may be crowded and hard to find space.

Bar Tiberio

Piazza Umberto I, 18, 80076 Capri NA, Italy

One of the best local fuss less bar right in the centre of Capri town. It is the place to grab a drink an aperitif while sitting at one of the outdoor tables when the sun is in your favour. Prices may not be cheap, but that is the case throughout the whole island.
