Sawatdi: NH Bangkok Sukhumvit Boulevard Corner Room Review

NH Hotels was recently fully integrated into the GHA Discovery lineup, and this means that a diverse selection of hotels has been added to the collection. This includes two properties in Bangkok. This makes it extremely valuable and useful for GHA members, whose elite status is rather easy to obtain for Singapore-based travellers. There are a bunch of status matches and credit card offerings for GHA elite status over here. It’s also one of the more valuable hotel chains out there in terms of maximising the value. I love it as my backup status. I was rather keen and interested in exploring this property. Both of the NH properties are in great locations for tourists. NH Bangkok Sukhumvit Boulevard is the first NH Hotels & Resorts brand property in the Thai capital. It is partially a rebrand from an Amari and reopened late last year after the rooms were fully renovated. The public spaces are due to be completed in Q22026. It just keeps getting better for GHA members over here. This will add some competition to the Avani. I have done up a few NHs in Europe, but this will be my first time doing so in Asia. Let’s see how it is!

Booking Process & Pre Arrival

I will be staying at NH Bangkok Sukhumvit Boulevard for two nights. The hotel is located in the Sukhumvit part of the city, which is a very central area for tourists. The BTS Station Nana is right next to the hotel. It is very convenient to travel around and escape from the busy traffic area of Sukhumvit. I reach out to get some information ahead of the stay. Seeing The World In Steps remained as a guest of NH Bangkok Sukhumvit Boulevard. I am booked into their Corner Room. NH Bangkok Sukhumvit Boulevard features 307 rooms across 8 categories. Checking In

I took the BTS from where I was staying previously, and it is an easy and smooth ride to Nana Station. From here, it is only a 3-minute walk to the station. This makes it very easy and fuss-free. I love that we can escape the horrendous traffic in Bangkok. Use the office tower at exit one to make it easier. I got to the hotel at around 2.30pm. Upon arrival, I was helped by the bellboy with my bags. It is pretty busy over here, given the peak hour.

I was warmly helped by the staff at check-in, which was prompt and efficient. All the details of my reservations were reviewed. A late check-out of 4pm is also extended as per usual for GHA Titanium members. I was then provided with some info on the two hotel towers and the facility. My room is located in the Krungthep Tower. The lobby comes with some seating and a bar at the side. The public area is still in the midst of the refreshment, with it to be completed by Q2 in 2026. All the rooms here are newly renovated.

Corner Room

The hotel is separated into two buildings. The base-level superior rooms are located in the older Siam building, while the rest are in the 25-storey Krungthep building. They have named both buildings after the old and current country names. I was assigned a Corner room on the 24th floor. This is one of the higher floors over here. I got room 2420, to be exact. It is located in the corner, just a short walk away from the elevators themselves. The rooms look entirely different to the public spaces. They are a refreshing look. Upon entering, you have the wardrobe on the right. It comes with everything that you might need for the stay, from laundry bags to bathrobes and bath slippers. There are also plenty of hangers, an ironing kit, as well as a hairdryer for your stay.

I did find it kind of weird that they didn’t have a portable luggage stand in the wardrobe. They are not available upon request either. There is also no permanent spot for your luggage. In the end, I just had to use the table for my suitcases. This seems to be a weird thing at a proper hotel. There is more than enough space in the room for one. Perhaps it can be done right near the foundation area since that space is left unused.

Heading on in, you can find the entrance to the bathroom, which is spacious. It comes with a single sink and plenty of counter space. There is a full set of toiletries and amenities over here. They are in large pump-size bottles and house-branded. The bathroom comes with a separate standing shower as well as a bathtub area. The water pressure and temperature control are decent and can be improved. I did like that the showering space is fully enclosed with a handheld showerhead.

Moving back to the main space of the room. The table stretches out along the wall. It is a huge one. There is ample space for your items, and then you can also find a mini bar set up here consisting of a kettle, some packaged tea and coffee. Drinking water is also provided. These are replenished during daily housekeeping and turndown service. Below, there is also a mini fridge that is left empty for your use.

Towards the end of it, you can find a dressing table or a working desk area. All sorts of power outlets and plugs are located within reach. The Wi-Fi works very well here. There is also an office chair that provides decent back support for a short period of working.

The TV is mounted on the wall, just above the mini bar area. The TV is of a good size and comes with a good number of both local and international TV channels. There is also Netflix and YouTube. It can also support casting. While it is mounted at an angle from the bed, the mount allows it to be adjusted. here wasn’t much to speak about in terms of the view. I just left the curtains drawn most of the time. On the side, the space usage is a little blocked by the foundation pillar. They could have built in a luggage storage area over here. It will be a good use of space that will be left empty.

There is another coffee table and an armchair over here. It is always good to have a separate seating area in your room. This will be perfect for now, just resting and grabbing a cup of coffee. Left of the table is a little welcome amenity, which is a nice touch from the hotel, consisting of some sweets.

Coming back to the main highlight of the room. This will be the plush bed. It is right in the middle. The mattress is of great quality and provides nice support. The sheets are also top-notch. This is why I love new properties. On both sides of the bed, there are nightstands with controls for the lighting and power outlets. One side of it even comes with an alarm clock.

I am pretty happy with the room by itself. Everything is clean and well-maintained in a modern hotel.

Pool

All of the facilities are located in the Siam Tower. The pool and gym are on the 6th floor. It comes with a saltwater pool, which is open from 8am to 8pm daily. By the side is the Seasons Bar, where you can order some snacks and drinks. The area looks very nice and chill. It can be a cosy spot in the evening when the temperature is cooler. The pool is on the smaller side, but the regular layout does let you get laps in. There are also some daybeds by the side of the pool. These places get a decent amount of sun during the day.

Fitness Centre

Similarly, located on the sixth floor, the fitness centre is on the smaller side, but very well equipped. It gets the work done. The facility is also open around the clock, which allows you to get the work done any time you fancy. There is usual fitness equipment here.

Mirage Bar

The hotel bar is right opposite the reception area. This is a lovely spot with live music on Fridays and Saturdays from 7pm to 11pm. They do two sets from 7.30pm to 8.30pm and then from 9pm to 10pm. This is quite an affair and very worth visiting. The bar runs frequent promotions and discounted prices on various days, such as ladies’ night and happy hour. You can find the menu and prices here.

I managed to visit it during my stay for drinks and to enjoy the live music. The mojito was excellent! This is also served with some nuts.

The bar also offers afternoon tea during the day. They are doing an Arabic theme one given that they have a lot of Arabic guests during this period since it is their holidays. They are available from 12pm to 4pm. This is quite good value for money if you fancy the items with the drinks package.

Tropicana Restaurant

The hotel’s main all-day restaurant. I had the chance to have dinner at the hotel during my stay. You can check out the menu over here. It is a lovely space and worth it if you are in a rush and don’t want to venture out. They do these very well-priced combo set menus, which are available mainly during lunchtime. These are also available during dinner time upon request. I had the Thai set, which came in this nice platter. It comes with one soup, one dish and white rice.

I enjoyed it and was pleasantly surprised by the flavours of the fish. It was crispy, flavourful and fresh. For this price, it is a great value for money. The portion is generous, too.

Breakfast at Tropicana

Breakfast is currently served from 6.30am to 11.30pm on a limited basis. This is subject to change. I was down for breakfast at about 9.30am or so, the place still stayed rather empty. The hotel has very thoughtfully adjusted the timing during this period to account for Arabic guests since they dine later. The hotel is currently seeing an influx of Arabic guests due to the Middle East holidays. Breakfast is quite a spread, and everything is served breakfast style. I will let the pictures do the rest of the speaking.

I appreciate them adjusting the preference to account for the guests’ patterns. This is very attentive.

Conclusion

I highly recommend this property, especially if you are a GHA elite member. The choices are getting more and more over here. NH properties are a good addition. This property offers great value for money and a nice balance. It is a great location to enjoy your elite benefits and clocking one brand, too. You can stretch your value over here with various promotions. The early check-in and late check-out will be very useful for a weekend getaway in Bangkok. It was refreshing to try the new NH hotel in Bangkok as compared to the ones in Europe. The room is fantastic and sparkling new, considering that it is only a couple of months old. Everything is still in tip-top condition. I am excited to return in the future to see how this will be with the public areas refreshed, too. The location is fantastic with great access to the public transport system. The staff are polished and very friendly. The meals at the restaurant exceeded my expectations, and the live band was a nice touch. They can improve by having key card access for the elevators.
