It has been 2 to 3 years since I last stayed here. I recently came back for a 3-night stay. This is a rather impromptu trip. The Conrad is one of the better properties over here. There are numerous premium luxury properties in Bangkok with footprint of most chain over here. Even for Hilton, there is a wide range of properties over here. The Conrad is one of the most premium ones and ranks just below the Waldorf Astoria. The Conrad does benefit from having an executive lounge. If that is your required amenity, the Conrad is the one to go for. The pricing here is lighter on the wallet too. This will be my go-to property in Bangkok for a normal stay. The WA is for more special occasions. I will not share the amenities as it is more or less the same. You can refer to my old post here.
Booking Process & Pre-Arrival
I book directly with Hilton. I got the Premium room since that is the lowest category available at the point of my visit. I did not get any upgrade prior. Upgrades are not easy over here. I would have to see how things are when I arrive. Conrad Bangkok features 391 guest rooms and suites spread across 10 categories. You can find the breakdown below.

Checking In
I landed at around 7.30pm or so. The traffic was not too bad and I got a Bolt ride directly to the hotel. By the time we got in, it was about 9pm or so. We were helped with our bags and the bellboy ushered us over to the check-in desks. This is located on the right side of the lobby area. We were then brought over some welcome drinks. The lemongrass and pandan drink was pretty good. This was a nice touch and a new addition to my previous stay.
Check-in took quite some time since there was an issue with my room and the rate. Somehow, their system is showing a different rate and room category from the one that I book. We did manage to solve it and soon I had my keys in hand. Late check out was also extended till 2pm. You can find the lobby area with some seatings.
The hotel is about a 5 mins stroll away from the main Sukhumvit stretch and the nearest BTS station. You do have an options of taking the shuttle bus which is shared with the Wireless office buildings. You can find the schedule of the shuttle bus here.
Grand Premium Room
I was assigned a grand premium room located on the 22nd floor. This is one of the better rooms type over here. The premium rooms are renovated and looks better than the rest. It is a short walk away from the elevators. Grand Premium rooms are located in the corner which boosts additional space. They measure a spacious 53 Sqm. This can easily be a junior suite! The room comes with an elongated L-shaped entranceway before you enter the main space of the room.
Straight ahead, you have the working desk cum dining table. It is a good size for both working and dining. All sorts of ports and plugs can be found within reach. The Wi-Fi connection is also very good and works very well. It is also equipped with an ergonomic Herman Miller chair which provides excellent back support. It is an excellent setup if you need to get some work done.
Behind the study table is the wardrobe and closet area. It is a nice open space that can be close with some doors. The space comes with plenty of hangers, bathrobes, bath slippers, laundry bags, ironing kit and plenty of hangers. There is also a safe and a spacious luggage area that could fit a mid size one well.
Along the wall by the entrance to the main space of the room, you can find the minibar area. There are some glassware and a full stocked minibar that consists of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. There are also complementary drinking water provided. I am not a fan of the Singha water that the provided here which is common in Bangkok. I love that they have a proper espresso coffee machine here. Packaged tea and capsules are provided. These are replenished during daily housekeeping and turndown service as well.
Mounted on the wall is is high quality smart screen TV that comes with a good number of both local and international cable TV channels. It also supports casting capabilities. The TV is mounted on a rack that allows it to be swivel towards the bed or the seating area. This is great for a movie night or so.
The centrepiece of the room is the plush king-size bed. It’s super spacious and comfortable with high-quality sheets and bedding. I love that the mattress is on the firmer side and offers great back support. The same goes for the pillows. You can customise your sleeping experience with the pillow menu. Flanking both sides of the bed are nightstands with controls for the lighting sheets and blinds. There are also power outlets readily on both sides of the bed. Top-notch in this aspect.
In the corner of the window area you can also find another seating area which consist of two arm chairs and a coffee table. Left on it is a welcome amenity consisting of some artisan water and two homemade snacks alongside a personalised welcome note. That’s quite nice!
There isn’t much of a view since it mostly faces the building next door. This is despite the fact that we are pretty high up. I love that the blinds and sheers are electronically controlled here.
Let me share about the generously size bathroom. It comes with a separate freestanding bathtub as well as a shower. The bathroom comes with a single sink and plenty of platform space. You can find it fully stocked with all sorts of amenities. As per usual, toiletries are from Byredo in large pump size bottles.
The bathtub is huge and spacious. With the tap on the side it doesn’t get in the way and you could do couple soaking. There is also a view from the bathroom. The standing shower comes with both a hand held shower head and a rainforest one. The water pressure and temperature control is excellent.
Turn-down service is automatically offered in the evening with the amenities replenished and room tied for the evening.
Executive Lounge
The executive lounge is in full operation and this is one of its advantage of Conrad and the differentiator factor for me. The lounge offers 3 meal presentations daily in addition to all-day drinks. Breakfast from 6am to 10.30am, till 11am on weekends, afternoon tea from 2pm to 4pm and evening cocktails from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
The place comes with a good view of the skyline and the surrounding area. There are probably seatings for about 50 to 60 pax or so. This is a very status heavy hotel and you can find the lounge busy during breakfast and evening cocktails. Here you can find some pictures of the place. Throughout the day they offer some snacks, fruits, soft drinks, coffee and tea.
Here is how the afternoon tea goes over here!
Evening cocktails is a spread with a huge drinks menu.
Here are some of the items for evening cocktails throughout my stay!
Breakfast at the Executive Lounge
Breakfast is served at the Executive Lounge, which offers another venue for eligible guests and Diamond members. The timing follows the restaurant for breakfast, on weekdays the service starts from 6am to 10.30am and on weekends till 11am. I appreciate the extended hours on weekends. On my first morning here, we had breakfast in the lounge which offers a more comfortable and exclusive dining environment than the restaurant. The service is also much more attentive at the lounge. The food selection might be smaller here but it is still very good and sufficient. Let me share it with you. This is my preferred place to grab breakfast as compared to the restaurant. You have a small buffet!
There is also an ala carte menu which is the highlight for breakfast. They limit you to 2 dish per person per day.
I tried almost the entire menu over the course of my stay! They could really improve by having fresh coconuts on offer.
Conclusion
This is a solid property with a really lovely executive lounge! It is also in a very central location that works well. It is a short walk from the BTS station or the shuttle bus works well too. The pricing offers a great value especially when compared with the Waldorf. This is one of the better ones in Thailand and definitely in Bangkok. It is especially true for Hilton elites. I always love to be back here and have a great time. It will be interesting to measure this up with the second Conrad in Bangkok that will open shortly!
