I have covered a couple of train products in Europe and they are all great for travel around Europe. I am a huge fan of Train travels. They work so well and it is perfect for hopping around various cities. It is amazing for solo travel. While there are renowned and famous products like the Eurostar, ICE and the TGV rarely does anyone hype about the SBB. They are also known as SBB CFF FFS. These are the Swiss trains! In reality, they do not have a signature product like their counterparts but Swiss trains are amazing. They are one of the best in the business. Clean, punctual and efficient. Oh and if you are those who try to sneak onboard trains, never try it on the Swiss network. And just like the saying, Swiss trains goes like clockwork! After Japan, the Swiss trains are my favourite. I got the chance to travel in their First Class cabins during my trip and would love to share on the Swiss trains.
Booking
Usually, the networks are always links. For example, you will be able to book an international train from Germany to Switzerland on both Deutsche Bahn and on the SBB CFF FFS network. I prefer to use the app when booking train tickets in Europe. You can then have everything on it from the reminders, time updates and mobile tickets to show the conductor. It does make sense to compare prices and see if it is cheaper anywhere. Furthermore, when you get tickets, you can also consider whether it is cheaper to book them together or sector by sector. For example, I was doing a Frankfurt – Basel – Zurich journey on this particular day. To check the schedule-wise, I far prefer the SBB app.

Conclusion
I don’t usually do seat reservations on board trains in Europe. I do not feel that it is necessary unless you are travelling over super peak periods. There was only once that I had to stand on an ICE train for about a stop or two. While the Swiss trains usually fly under the radar, it is one of the best in the region and constantly so reliable. Do note that the prices in Switzerland, are not as affordable as their counterparts. Swiss First Class will be a very comfortable way to zip around the country!
