I was supposed to stay at the W Bangkok during my time in Bangkok on a media stay but I didn’t manage to do it in the end as I had to fly back on Gulf Air two days earlier. The W Bangkok is one of the most inspiring properties in town. It might be a little dated and with the plethora of luxury hotels in Bangkok these days it is no longer the top choice anymore. You can check out some of the hotels I stayed at in Bangkok. Conrad Bangkok, Waldorf Astoria Bangkok, Ascott Thonglor, Ascott Embassy Sathorn. They do have renovation plans later this year. I figure it will be nice to share a little about the property and share some pictures since I had a chance to take a tour. This will be particularly interesting for Marriott Bonvoy members. W Bangkok is located in the Sathorn area, slightly out of the core Siam area. It is located near the river where you have quick access to Iconsiam and the various attractions nearby. The BTS station is right outside and allows you to zip around the city quickly and escape the traffic. W is a brand that you love or hate. It might not be for everyone, but if you do like it, you are in for a lot of fun. I certainly enjoyed myself in W Bali.

Rates and Booking

W Bangkok goes for around 6000 THB a night. It is by no means cheap. Points redemption usually goes for around 25,000 to 30,000 points. It is also possible to find PointSavers rate at around 20,000 points. Booking via points might be cheaper with the deals from time to time. Another option is to book a Luxury Agent Rate to enjoy extra benefits like a 100 USD credit, an upgrade, breakfast, early check-in and late checkout. Hotelux and Classic Travel are good avenues to book this. This can come in handy, especially on one-night stays. You will pay the flexible rate and get to enjoy all your Marriott Bonvoy benefits as well including earning nights and points. Check it out here.
