I have just shared my stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur and have written extensively on my stay in their Deluxe Suite as well as the hotel facilities, including the executive lounge and breakfast offering. You can check that out here. On the first night of my stay, I was actually in their Executive Mountain View Room. I will simply share my thoughts on the room and it is very decent. This is the best non-suite room available. It is a category that they commonly upgrade elite members to. While extra space is always good, let’s check this out.

Executive Mountain View
This is the room that I was assigned for the first night. I was assigned a twin Executive Mountain View Room on the 19th floor. The room is the same as the normal Twin Mountain View Room, just that this comes with executive privileges. It is not a huge difference for a Diamond Member since I already had access to the lounge. The room was rather basic and the decor was dated. It looks similar to the other DoubleTree properties in Malaysia.
Upon entering you can find a wardrobe and s luggage rack combo to the left. It is slightly on the smaller side and the luggage rack could only fit a cabin-size carry-on. I do wish that they provide some additional portable stands in the wardrobe for bigger suitcases. Inside you have everything that you might need for the stay from hangers to ironing kit and bath slippers as well as a safe.
The bathroom is spacious and comes with a single sink. All sorts of other amenities are provided from dental kits to amenities. Crabtree and Evelyn’s toiletries are offered as usual in Hilton properties. The bathroom has a glass panel that opens up towards the room and as such you can get the view even from the bathroom. There are blinds for those who wish to have more privacy.
The bathroom comes with a standing shower. The water pressure and temperature can be improved.
The twin beds take up most of the space in the room. The mattress is on the softer side. The pillows were pretty good and I am surprised that they even had a pillow menu available. That is refreshing for a DoubleTree. I opted for some of those contour pillows and had a lovely rest. You can find a nightstand in the middle with an alarm clock as well as switches for the lighting. They only have a single power outlet here.
Mounted on the wall, you can find a pretty high-quality flat-screen TV. It comes with plenty of both local and cable TV channels. I do feel that the television is a little bit on the smaller side.
Next to it, you can find a long working desk equipped with an armchair. Outlets are readily here and I also appreciate that they had HDMI ports on the side that makes it easy for you to connect your devices to your laptop. The premium Wi-Fi connections are very fast.
The minibar console is also located here where you can find two bottles of water provided as well as a kettle. Below, you have a mini fridge that is left empty for your use.
The room comes with a decent view of the surrounding area. You have an unblocked view of the mountains in the background. This is a lovely space. By the window, you can also find a couch and a coffee table. As we were celebrating my mum’s birthday, the spot is decorated with some balloons. Left on the table is a welcome amenity consisting of some sweets and fruits as well as a personalised note from the GM.
Conclusion
It is a perfectly alright room. There is not much of a difference between this and a normal non-executive level mountain view room. This is the usual upgrade that you can expect for elite members’ stays.
