Continuing on my Oneworld Lounge reviews and tour in Singapore Changi Airport, I made my trek over to Terminal 4 to check out the Cathay Pacific Lounge. This is the only Oneworld Lounge outside of Terminal 1 where the bulk of Oneworld carriers fly out from. T4 is slightly inconvenient and feels like a different place from the rest of the terminal. T4 also have a different security policy from the rest of the terminal. You can do airside transit from the other terminals but do take note that this takes quite some time via shuttle buses. It is such a design myopia from the team not to build a skytrain. Being the only Oneworld airline to fly out from T4, it makes sense for them to operate their lounge over here. I am flying on Japan Airlines and with this being my first Oneworld premium flight out of Changi, I aim to visit all the lounges to review them.

Access Requirements

The Cathay Pacific Lounge Singapore is open daily 3 hours ahead of the first Cathay Flight till the last departure. CX710 departs at 8.45am. You get access if you are flying in the Oneworld premium cabin or connecting from international Business / First Class, even if the domestic leg is in Economy. Oneworld elite status holders are also allowed access. Standard guesting rules apply. Jetstar is another airline that recently shifted over to T4. While Qantas top tier members usually get access to their lounges when flying on Jetstar, this is not that feasible now that the flights are out of T4. Hopefully, they have some agreement with Cathay to allow this.

Arrival & Location

The lounge is located one level above the main terminal. You can find it very easily with clear signs for it. Terminal 4 is not overly huge. You should have no trouble finding it. Cathay is always very consistent with their lounge decor and it always comes in these dark cool tones with wood finishing. I got to the lounge at around noon. It is quite quiet at this hour. I was welcomed in by the staff after presenting my boarding pass. I did get some weird looks as to why I was here when the flight was departing from Terminal 1.

Cathay Pacific Lounge Singapore Changi Airport

Immediately right after entering, straight ahead you have the dining area. This is where you can find Cathay’s signature Noodle Bar. Here you can find dining tables designed in the style of a traditional HK-style cafe. I will come back to the food and drinks later on. I love the vibes and look of this area.

Moving on to the main lounging area. This area is classy. You have some long communal tables with high-top seating. Power outlets are readily available around the lounge and Wi-Fi is available too. There is another small buffet area with dining tables here.

Heading in, you can find furniture nicely set up around this area. It is very comfy and cosy. It felt more like a high-class residential condo rather than a lounge. It is a very good spot to relax and wait for your flight. It comes with a good view of the terminal too. Here are some pictures of the place.

In the corner, you can also find a small business centre with some Mac computers.

The bathroom is found near the entrance and Noodle Bar. Do note that there are no showers in the lounge. The toilets are well-maintained and clean. Sadly, Aesop toiletries are no longer being provided.

Food & Drinks

The Noodle Bar is a classic of Cathay Pacific lounge and you can find it right ahead. This is always the signature of their business class lounge. I love the wood finishing with the striking green colour. The food menu and selection change from time to time. There are some standard items like Siew Mai and Wanton Mee.

This is the menu on the day of my visit.

You can order straight at the noodle bar and collect it once your beeper beeps. It did not take too long for the food to be ready. I am very hungry since this is my first meal of the day. Some of the stand-out items are the Wanton Mee and the Siew Mai! The lor mee was pretty good too.

I also tried the daily special, Hainanese Chicken Rice! This was rather lacklustre. Do note that Cathay offers Moet & Chandon. Champagne with Wanton Mee? Champagne with Chicken Rice? That is a reality here.

Besides the noodle bar, you can also find some cold dishes and snacks right next to the noodle bar. There are some dessert soup and cakes. Soft drinks can be found over here.

Over in the main lounge area, you can find more food and drink options. There is a cheese platter and some hot items like Chinese soup, fish, pasta and rice.

There are some self-served alcohol and drinks here. You can find water, soft drinks, beers, juices, wines and spirits. There is also Moet & Chandon Champagne. It is nice to see champagne being offered in a business-class lounge. There are also some coffee machines and Jing tea.

My only complaint here is the lack of a bar and proper barista-made coffee. That will be perfect.

Conclusion

Do note that there are no showers over here in the Cathay Lounge. If you require one, you might have to pop by the Priority Pass lounge next door. I feel like some showers could come in handy, especially for guests who are flying right after work. It is a very comfortable lounge and well-maintained. The food and drinks options are close to perfect. The place brings back so many good memories about Cathay Pacific business class and first class. I can’t wait to fly with them again. Next up! Qantas Business Class Lounge!
