Just Sleep Osaka is the first offspring out of Taiwan and the first branch to open out of Taiwan. Japan being a huge destination for Taiwan travellers is a strong market that the team is looking to expand into. The hotel has a fantastic location in Osaka and they are right in the middle of Shinsaibashi which is the top location to stay in Osaka for travellers. The area is surrounded by numerous eateries and shopping options. You can check out some of the other Silks Hotel Group properties that I have stayed in Taiwan here such as Regent Taipei, Wellspring by Silks Jiaoxi, Silks Place Taroko, Silks Club Kaohsiung, Silks Place Tainan, Just Sleep Sanchong and Just Sleep Ximending. The hotel has just started operations earlier this year and took over a previous local hotel.
Booking Process & Pre Arrival
The Just Sleep Osaka is right in the beating heart of the city. It is steps away from Shinsaibashi and with 4 metro stations nearby, it is as good as it gets. It is super convenient. I do recommend taking a cab from the station if you have huge baggage. It is about a 10-minute walk from the nearest exit. The hotel is a great base to explore the city. Having a stroll back from Dotonbori after dinner is perfect. Seeing The World In Steps stayed as a guest of Silks Hotel Group. I stayed in their Superior Room. This is their base-level category. Just Sleep Osaka features 100 guest rooms across 3 categories.

Checking In
I arrive in the late evening after flying over from Sapporo in Hokkaido. I took a domestic flight to KIX and then transferred over using the Nankai Express. It is about a 45-minute train ride or so before taking the local metro. From the nearest exit, it is about a 10-minute walk. Just Sleep Osaka is centrally located and surrounded by 4 metro stations in various directions. This makes it easy for both the airport and Osaka Station. The just Osaka has a rather muted entrance and exterior. I love the quirky interior.
Upon arrival, you are invited to take a sit at Just Cafe which offers local Kansai coffee, tea and welcome snacks. This is also available all day from 1pm to 11pm. The hotel has plenty of collab with local brands in the surrounding area. I was helped by a friendly associate at the reception and my reservations were reconfirmed. I was also provided with all the information for the stay before the staff ushered me over to the elevators.
Superior Room
I was assigned a room on the 5th floor. Room 511 to be exact. The room is just next to the elevator upon entering. The room is on the smaller side and only measures 12 Sqm in size. You can see the entire room in one look. While the room is cosy, let me remind you that this is what business hotels in Japan usually look like. Immediately beside the entrance, you have an open-concept hanging rack in place of a wardrobe. The concept helps in maximising space. There are some hangers here and you can also find bath slippers provided. Nearby, there is also a dehumidifier and a full-length mirror. The bathroom is certainly a tight fit. I am very impressed with how they managed to squeeze out every little square inch of the space. You can find storage for both amenities and towels. There is also a bidet toilet with all the functions. The bathroom comes with a single sink. The shower and tub combo is certainly good enough for two. There is also a bidet toilet with all the functions as usual in Japan.
You can find storage for amenities and towels. The basic amenities are provided and more can be collected from the front desk. The toiletries provided are of a local brand and high quality. I love the amenities that they provide in Japan. The showering space is spacious. Water pressure and temperature control are great. I had a good shower here. The bed takes up the main space of the room. As much as people criticise the bedding over in Silks Hotel Group for being too hard, I am a huge fan of their memory foam mattress. It offers me awesome back support after a long day of travelling. Having a good night and high-quality sleep is crucial for doing it all over again the next day. Power outlets can be found within reach alongside controls for the lighting. There is even a USB port. To save space, you can find a place nicely designed to hold some small items such as your phone and glasses.
Left on the bed is a lovely welcome amenity consisting of some green tea, local snacks and a welcome note.
The working desk is found along the wall. It is pretty spacious and comes with a chair. This is suitable for short periods of working. Power outlets are readily available and the wifi is strong in the room. Below the table, you can find a kettle, packaged tea, coffee and a fridge.
The TV is mounted on the wall and is high quality. It is a good size for the room. The TV comes with a good number of both local and international channels and you can also cast content from your devices.
Do note that they do not provide any bottled water in the room. There are multiple convenience stores steps away from the property. I also managed to check out some of the other rooms that they have on the property.
Deluxe Twin Room
Laundry Room
You can also find a laundry room on the ground floor just beside the reception area. It certainly comes in handy if you are doing a long stay. There are some washing machines and dryers.
Breakfast at Just Cafe
Breakfast is served at Just Cafe which is located on the ground floor. Breakfast service is from 6.30am to 10am daily. They serve a combination of both Taiwanese and Japanese cuisine. This will be very suitable if you are craving for some Chinese food and a refreshing change from the usual Japanese cuisine. The spread isn’t overly huge but everything looks good.
Here are some pictures of the breakfast lineup. I rather enjoy the stir-fried noodles as well as the usage. There are even some tea-flavoured eggs. Hot drinks consist of coffee and tea. Great spot to kick start your day if you have it included in your rate.
Conclusion
Just Sleep Osaka offers a great option for those who want to be in the centre of everything. It’s close to all the buzz. It doesn’t get any better than this. I do have to say that the rooms here are on the smaller side but it will not be foreign to travellers heading to Japan. They are akin to typical Japanese business hotels and chains. The twin rooms offer slightly more space. For the first timers, this is a location that you won’t go wrong. I will have no qualms about coming back here if I want to stay in this area and at this price point. I am looking forward to seeing more Just Sleep properties around Japan very soon.
