The proud winner of Priority Pass Excellence Awards 2025! Kyra Lounge was named the best Priority Pass lounge in the Asia Pacific region, with over 781,000 member ratings and reviews. I have heard plenty about this lounge and how great it is, but I have not had the chance to visit it previously. It shocked me learning about these awards and such awards. Awards, Priority Pass and contract lounges don’t seem to be commonly put together. I am excited to check it out for myself this time around. HKIA is a pretty nice one for Priority Pass. There is a Putien food stall and an amazing Chase Sapphire Lounge. This is another of my favourites. The Plaza Premium is a little lacking in my opinion. Also, don’t miss out on the Intervals Sky Bar, which is awesome for checking out planes. This is one of the remaining lounge options that I have not checked out over here at Hong Kong International Airport. Let’s see if they are really award-winning.
Access Requirements
The Kyra Lounge is open from 5.30am to 11.30pm daily. You can access this lounge through a lounge program membership, such as Priority Pass. I have an unlimited Priority Pass through my UOB Reserve Card or my Citi Prestige Credit Card, which provides me with 12 yearly visits. I access the lounge primarily using these two cards. A standard entrance will cost 35USD. Typical guest entitlements follow.
Arrival & Location
You can find the lounge near gate 23. There are clear signs for the entrance. The lounge is located one level below the main departure floor. Simply access it via the steps or the elevator. I love the look of the place and the entrance. I was admitted after providing my Priority Pass Card. I can see why they are winning the awards. There are so many signs asking guests to vote for them or to do reviews.
Kyra Lounge
The lounge is very gorgeous and a great space. It is not super spacious but comes with tons of natural light and tarmac views. This really adds points to the entire place. I love it the moment I entered the lounge. I can see why it has won the award. It is really one of the nicest contract lounges that I have seen. The moment after entering, you can see the gorgeous bar, which is the centrepiece. I will come back to the food and drinks later on. Towards the left, you can find the refreshment counters as well as proper dining tables that are much more suitable for dining. Here are some pictures of the lounge.
Wi-Fi is available in the lounge, too, and they have power outlets conveniently scattered throughout the lounge. There are some high-top settings by the side of the windows. This will be great for solo travellers, and you get a fantastic view of the tarmac and the planes. The view of a Cathay plane pulling in was majestic. This lounge is super crowded.
At the end of the lounge, there is an area cordoned off, which I presume is reserved for airline customers in partnership. They have much more private seating here and perhaps even better drink options. I saw some sparkling.
Service is above average even the lounge also goes on a little view to get people to vote for them as a child with little pets And science asking people to do so staff service is generally very good excellent above the average long seeing us sitting on a table they also came up with assigned to say that it is reserved something very appreciated and in fact, this is the first time I see it over at the contract lounge.
Toilets and showers
They do not have any showers here in the lounge, which is one of the bad aspects. They do have their own toilets, which sure comes in handy. This is still a nice touch even in a place like Hong Kong. The toilets are well-maintained and clean. The spot is nicely designed. I do appreciate them for providing quality amenities from Rituals. As far as contract lounges go, this is pretty much at the top.
Food and Drinks
There are some soda fountains, juices and a coffee station around the lounges. For more substantial alcoholic options, you will have to head to the bar.
This is where the lounge really becomes award-winning for me. The options here are outstanding for a contract lounge. They have a bartender staffed here to offer any drinks you want. They have a great selection of cocktails and mocktails. There are also draft beers and wine options. The selection here can put some airline lounges to shame.
I tried a couple of their cocktails, including the Fragrant Harbour, Lion Dance and Night Market. I love the naming after iconic places in Hong Kong. The Lion Dance is my favourite!
The food consists of some fresh fruits, cake, pastries, cold cuts, salads and a couple of hot items. I love this baked pork chop rice that they have. It is so delicious. Everything tasted pretty good and was of high quality. Here are some pictures of the selections.
Conclusion
I do not doubt that they deserve the award. It is actually one of the better contract lounges that I have been to among the Priority Pass network. It seems that they have really invested in it. You can tell by the quality of the finishing, the service, the drinks quality, as well as the food quality. They are a step above the usual contract lounge. They can even put some airline lounges to shame. This is the one to go for if you have a limited number of lounge passes. Hong Kong airport is really blessed with having two outstanding contract lounges. With that being said, I have not been to a lounge where I have seen so many signs and pamphlets asking for votes. I like the views from the lounge. It comes with an amazing tarmac view. We got a lovely view of the Cathay plane pushing back right in front of us. Why can’t we have more of such lounges!
