Priority Pass has since advanced far from offering just lounges to travellers. There is a whole network of bars, restaurants, hotels, spas and even caviar stores. Anything can be available to members. It depends on the location. I certainly love this concept, especially when I have an unlimited Priority Pass card. I always love seeing what is around the airport that I am flying out of. It can be very valuable if you have multiple outlets that work on a credit system. I also love a spa or massage outlet. I have visited a number of these, both abroad and in Singapore. This time around, I am checking out the Bistro Bar 2020 in Sydney International Airport. This is one of the two Priority Pass options over here in Terminal 2.
Access Requirements
The Bistro Bar 2020 is open daily from 6am to 6pm. The closing time sounds a little too early for a bar. You can access this lounge via a lounge program membership, like Priority Pass. I have an unlimited Priority Pass through my Citi Prestige Credit Card or my UOB Reserve Card and use that to access the lounge. A normal entrance will cost 35 USD. Each access will give you a credit of 36 AUD per person. The prices here already include taxes, so that’s not an issue over here in Sydney.
Arrival & Location
The restaurant is located airside, after security. You can find it in the food court area just after clearing security. Simply head down the escalator after clearing security. You will find it along the windows, which offer plenty of tarmac views. Simply inform the staff that you would like to use your Priority Pass. You can then order after swiping your Priority Pass card and presenting your boarding pass. You can order anything you want off the menu up to the limit of your credit. Cardholders are entitled to up to 36 AUD off the menu. If you bring in a guest, that will be 72 AUD. You can top up anything extra with cash.
Bistro Bar 2020
This is more of a Bar rather than a restaurant. The seats are rather comfy. I love the gorgeous tarmac views. It was very crowded when I visited. As mentioned earlier, you are allowed 36 AUD per person. You can order anything on the menu. The menu consists of some food and alcoholic drinks. The drink selections are more impressive. Check out the menu over here. I can see why it is so popular over here.
I simply had some beers and chips. Nothing much to share about this.
Conclusion
I certainly appreciate Priority Pass expanding its networks. I love such restaurants, cafes, bars and even spa outlets. This can be handy if you have an unlimited Priority Pass. While this spot is nothing special, it gets the job done. The drinks selection is great, I enjoyed a few pints here. The credit should net you two drinks or 1 drink and 1 food item. I always appreciate having an unlimited Priority Pass to escape those overpriced airport prices for food and drinks. Most of the time, such food will be much better than what you can get at a contract lounge, too. Check it out when flying out of Sydney Terminal 2.
