It’s been quite some time since I was last here at Conrad Bali. It has been almost 3 years since. This used to be the best property in Bali but now the title belongs to the LXR. The Umana is outstanding! I have fond memories from my stay back then where I managed to stay two nights from a Covid days voucher for just 133 SGD a night. I do remember them being a charming property with an outstanding executive lounge offering for Diamond members. I am glad to see how things are now. I do wish that Hilton could expand its footprint in Bali. The island can certainly do with a couple more Hilton, DoubleTrees and perhaps even another Conrad in Seminyak or Ubud. The only bad aspect of this property is the location. While it is easy to travel to and from the airport, it is not convenient to explore other spots in Bali. You can find my old review of the property where I stayed in the Ocean Facing Room. You can find more information on the facilities here. I will not share them again. I will share the executive lounge as things have changed since.
Booking Process & Pre Arrival
I booked directly with Hilton and got the base-level deluxe room. I will be staying here for 2 nights. It will not be a long stay since I will have an early departure. I just got the cheapest room available. A few days out, I can see from the app that I have been upgraded to the Conrad Suite. This is the entry suite over here. It is a lovely upgrade and they sure do elite treatment very well. This would have cost around 500 SGD a night. I also reach out ahead to provide my request and to make some reservations. Conrad Bali features 358 guest rooms and suites spread across 12 categories. It is a sprawling property despite the low number of rooms and suites. Do be prepared to walk quite a bit depending on where your room is located. The suites are located in a separate building known as Conrad Suites. They even have their entrance over here.

Checking In
I landed at the airport at around 10am. I had pre-arranged an airport transfer. This is the easiest and the best thing to do over here. It is very hard to get a ride over here and you will have to handle the packs of touts. This way, there will already be someone waiting for you as you exit the terminal. I got to the resort at around 11.15am or so. It took just 15 mins with the toll road. There was a security check as we pulled up to the Conrad. I received a warm welcome from security who greeted us and apologised for the delay. Wow, it’s nice to be back! Upon arrival, the bellman came over to help us with our bags and ushered us over to the check-in desks which are located to the left.
It is a sit-down affair over here. I was helped by a polished staff who helped us with the check-in. At the same time, welcome drinks are offered. There was some lemongrass with honey tea. I was welcomed back and thanked for being a Diamond member. They also reconfirm the suite upgrade. Details for the facilities and breakfast were provided. There are two spots for both the breakfasts and the executive lounge. They also preemptively offered a late checkout but this is not necessary since I am leaving at 10am. I was then passed over to the bellboy who showed me to my suite and helped me with my bags. This is a lovely touch as the property is huge and you will not know your way for the first time. I was in the Conrad Suites building which is to the left.
Conrad Suite
I was assigned a suite located in the Conrad Suites area. This is to the left of the resort. It is quite a walk from the main building. You will appreciate the exclusivity. They even have their entrance and drop-off points. We got one on the highest floor which is the 4th. Do note that you have to walk past some outdoor walkways to travel to and from the main building and this is not sheltered. The suite might be entry level but the space is super huge. It measures an awesome 110 Sqm. This is good enough for 4 people or even small families. The suite comes in double queen or king configurations. I was originally assigned one with a double queen but requested a king instead.
Upon entering the suite, you are in the very spacious living room, which is rectangular in configuration. This is even more suspicious than my house. There is a wet bar and kitchen area. It comes fully stocked with a fridge, glassware and even a proper espresso coffee machine over here. Sadly, the capsules are not the official ones. There is also some packaged tea and complimentary water are provided.
The full-size dining table can fit around 6 people or so but they only had three chairs available? This is so weird. They should at least have 4 chairs since this suite has a capacity of 4.
There is a little partition in the middle that sort of separates the dining area from the rest of the living room. The living space comes with a gorgeous and cosy sofa set that could fit perhaps 6 to 8 pax comfortably. This also surrounds a coffee table. It will be an awesome spot for a gathering or hosting a party. I love how the ceiling fan adds some flair to the place.
The television is on the smaller side of the suite. It does come with a good number of both local and international cable TV channels. This is something that can be improved on. The console provides some additional storage if you require it.
From both sides of the television area, this is where you can find sliding doors that link you to the bedroom area. I love that the bedroom area can be fully separated from the bedroom. This is a nice layout just in case you need to keep things separate.
There is also a balcony over here. It is a cosy space with a lazing daybed. This entry-level suite doesn’t come with an ocean view but just faces the interior area of the resort. It is not very private as you will be able to see the adjacent balcony directly.
The bedroom is almost the same size as the living room. My original suite comes in a double queen configuration. I wanted a king configuration and the hotel merged both queen beds into one gigantic super king bed. This is so awesome! It could fit like probably 8 people or so! They also did it nicely with a topper and you won’t be able to feel the gap in the middle. I loved that the mattress is of a firm size. Nightstands to flank both sides of the bed but somehow only one of them came with a three-point plug. Left on the bed, you can find two signature Conrad soft toy mascots, which are the monkeys over here.
There is another TV in the bedroom.
By the side of the bedroom, you can find the walk-in wardrobe and bathroom. This is one of the nicest spots in the suite. It comes with everything that you might need for your stay. There are plenty of hangers, bathrobes, a spacious luggage rack area, bath slippers and a safe.
Opposite is a vanity area and dressing desk. It comes with a hairdryer too.
The bathroom comes with a double doors entrance. The bathroom is super spacious and gorgeous. It comes with double sinks and a couch in the middle. I am not very sure why this is there as well. The bathroom comes with all sorts of amenities. Toiletries are located in large-size bottles and from Byredo. Bottled drinking water is also left here.
The bathroom comes with a standing shower and a separate bathtub. The tub is good enough for two. Bath salts are also provided. The water pressure and temperature control are decent.
Executive Lounge
This is one of the best things about this property! I do remember enjoying it the entire day from Afternoon Tea to Evening Cocktails. A classic day here would be to hit out the pool right after breakfast and then head for afternoon tea and then evening cocktails. You can have the meals at either the East Lobby Lounge or the Conrad Suites Lounge. Afternoon tea is offered from 3pm to 5pm. Evening cocktails are offered from 5pm to 7pm. The Conrad Suites Lounge is not open to kids so the East Lobby Lounge will be more suitable.
Here is the menu at East Lobby Lounge.
It does feel like they have downgraded the drinks menu. It is so extensive previously. I didn’t make it for Afternoon Tea. Besides what is on the menu, you can also order some classics such as mojitos or pina coladas. The drinks are very good and made from a proper bar as other paying guests order from.
The food consisted of a platter of nibbles that changes every day.
The Conrad Suites Lounge have a different menu. This lounge is actually open from 6.30am to 11pm daily. You can pop by for some coffee and tea as well as soft drinks. It is a nice air conditioning space if you need one. During these hours, the place is not manned and it is challenging just to get some assistance. It will be nice to get some drinks for the pool downstairs. They have both indoor and outdoor seats.
The food options are also different here. It is more Japanese-orientated since they are from Rin Restaurant. You can find the menu here.
Drinks are equally good and I went for a Gin Martini and a Mojito.
Conclusion
I have always enjoyed my stay over here in Conrad Bali. This is the same! I enjoyed the spacious suite and the excellent service. They also have a nice beach and pool area. Suites guests also benefit from having the additional Conrad Suites Lounge and Suites Pool to enjoy! The only bad aspect of this property is the location. It is far out from the core Seminyak area. It will be challenging if you want to travel out every day. This suite reminds me of the one I had over in the Ritz Carlton as well. I far prefer this suite and it is also much more well maintained than the Ritz! Another point to take note that the lack of a sheltered walkway or linkage between the Suites building and the main building. We had to walk 1-2 mins in the rain. They did have umbrellas available but a sheltered walkway should be designed. See you soon Conrad Bali!
