This is technically the only lounge available here in Zagreb Airport. I am surprised by the size of the airport and would expect it to be much larger given that this is the capital of the country. The airport mainly does regional flights from European destinations and has a limited number of international flights. It is quite a shocker when even Croatian Airlines the main airline here doesn’t even operate one here at the lounge. This is also the only contract lounge and is available via Priority Pass. I would assume that most lounge programs will have this for access too.

Access Requirements

Primeclass Lounge Zagreb Airport is open from 5am to 11pm daily. You can access this lounge via lounge program membership like Priority Pass. I have an unlimited Priority Pass through my Citi Prestige Card or my UOB Reserve Card and I use that to access the lounge. A normal entrance will cost 35 USD via PP. Typical guest entitlements follow. You can also pay directly for an entrance to the lounge. I entered using my KrisFlyer Gold Status since I was flying with Turkish Airlines. We can bring in a guest too.

Arrival & Location

The lounge is located opposite gate 23. It is very easy to find it with clear signs. Despite the early hours, the lounge is already packed. I would have imagined it to be constantly crowded given the airline crowd and the contract lounge access. We were warmly welcomed in by the staff after scanning our boarding pass.

Prime Class Lounge Zagreb

There are two areas of the lounge. The main lounge area is the one right ahead behind the entrance and then you have sort of an overflow area to the left. This is mainly used for lounging. It is a pretty standard lounge with typical mainly dining tables and some couches. You can find some pictures of the lounge here.

Food and Drinks

While the lounge is nothing memorable in terms of the hardware the software is impressive. This is especially true for a contract lounge standard. I was rather impressed even with the breakfast service. There is a nice selection on the buffet line. Drinks-wise, you have some coffee, tea and juices. In the fridge, there are also some soft drinks and bottled water. Bottled beer, wine and spirits are available too if you fancy them at this early hour. These are pretty high quality.

With regards to food, there are some fruits, pastries, bread and even a pancake machine. This brings me back some Alaska lounge memories. Hot food consists of some eggs and sausages. The food quality is there and I enjoyed the hot food as well as the pastries. These were not your usual lounge stale pastries. The croissants were so flaky and delicious. It might even be better than some hotel breakfast. I had a full breakfast here given how early it was and we did not get any food prior. This is way better than I expected.

Conclusion

This is a solid contract lounge that gets the job done. The place is standard and basic but hits the right spot. It is not fancy but I would still recommend visiting it. It is nice to get access to it. Solid place to get some rest, food and drinks. This also prevents spending on those overpriced airport items. I enjoyed the breakfast and it is nice to get access with Priority Pass too. While it still wows me not to see Croatian Airlines operate a lounge at their home hub, I have seen worse quality for an airline lounge.
