I extended my Europe trip for a couple of days in Bangkok to check out some of the hotels that recently opened. It will also be a great way to satisfy my Asian taste buds after 2 weeks in Europe. I was invited by Novotel Living Bangkok Sukhumvit Legacy. I am very honoured to visit here and do a review. It is a rather new hotel in the Sukhumvit area and an addition to the Novotel footprint. This is also the first Novotel Living property in Thailand. It offers a resort-style living concept in city areas for short-term and long-term stays. It is something like a mixture between a hotel and an apartment. The location is perfect and right in the heart of the neighbourhood. You can find numerous malls within walking distance and the BTS and MRT stations nearby. It offers a home away from home living concept!

Booking Process & Pre Arrival

I will be staying here for two nights. Novotel Living Bangkok Sukhumvit Legacy is in one of the best locations in the city. It is located in the core Sukhumvit district and within walking distance of multiple malls and the BTS and MRT. Checking In

I landed at around 11.30am and got a Bolt to the hotel which took around 50 mins or so with the traffic. It costs around 200 THB and an additional 25 THB for tolls. Bolt is a lot cheaper and I luckout in getting a nice ride. Upon arrival, the bellboy came out to help me with my bags before ushering me to the check-in desks. Novotel Living here consists of two buildings. The reception is located in building one which is located to the right. The pool is located in the middle of the two buildings. I will share more about this later on. I was immediately helped by the staff and there was no wait at this hour. All the details were reconfirmed and I was offered info on the facilities and breakfast. My bags were brought over to the room.

There are plenty of sittings by the side of the lobby. It looks lovely and bright with tons of natural light. The property is in tip-top condition since it is newly renovated and only opened last November. My room will be in the second building.

By the side of the lobby, there is also a grab-and-go counter if you need anything readily round the clock.

I love that the hotel has an in-house one-stop app that guest can use throughout their stay. You can activate it by scanning a QR code at the reception. This will offer you all sorts of information on the property. You can also request additional amenities and chat with the hotel.

Deluxe Studio

I was assigned a room in the second building on the 11th floor. This is the second highest floor. The deluxe studio measures a spacious 40 Sqm. It comes equipped with a kitchenette. This is perfect for both long-term and short-term stays. The deluxe studio comes in the standard twin or king configuration. There is also an option for family rooms with bunk beds. You enter straight into the entrance way which houses the kitchenette area to the right.

This is a fully stocked wet bar area with a kettle, toaster and a microwave. All sorts of cutleries and glassware are provided too. There is also a full-size fridge over here left empty for your use. This will be handy for long-term stays and to stock up at a supermarket. There are some packaged tea and coffee alongside drinking water. These are replenished during daily housekeeping.

On the left, you have the spacious wardrobe with everything you might require for the stay from bathrobes to bath slippers. There are also plenty of hangers, a safe and an ironing kit. Alongside are some additional cabinets that you can use for storage.

Let’s move to the main room area itself. This is more like a studio apartment or a junior suite. It comes with a bedroom and a living area. The regular layout and configuration make it very spacious and allows for good use of space. There is another small wardrobe on the side with a portable luggage rack.

The living room L-shape couch that can seat 3 people comfortably. this surrounds a coffee table. It is a cosy spot for both dining and catching a show. This can also be a bed for the smaller one.

Mounted on the wall you can find a large smart screen TV that comes with a good number of both local and international cable TV channels. This is handy and of a good size to be viewed from both the sofa and the bed.

By the side, there is also a small dining table for two. This will be great for simple meals, takeaway or even room service. As mentioned above, you can also order room service from the app. Room service is available from 11am to 11pm daily. There isn’t much of a view as it just faces the surrounding street. The blinds and sheers are manually controlled over here. They are great at blocking out light.

The working desk in the corner is well-equipped with all sorts of plugs and ports. They have an international adapter power socket and USB ports too. Wifi is readily available and the connection is very excellent in the room.

The plush king-size beds take up the centrepiece. I have nothing but good things to share about the mattress and sheets. They were high quality and smooth. It certainly exceeded my expectations and I slept so well. The back support is amazing. The same goes for the pillows, I love how plush they are. I got some firmer contour pillows and slept well. Flanking both sides of the bed you can find nightstands with power outlets and controls for the lighting. There are also USB ports. Top notch in this aspect, I appreciate them for installing these.

The bathroom comes with a single sink bathtub and separate shower. Toiletries provided are from Ideology in large pump-size bottles. All sorts of other amenities are provided too.

The standing shower only comes with a wall-mounted shower head but there is a movable one by the bathtub if you require one. Water pressure and temperature control are excellent.

Fitness Centre

The fitness centre is located near the entrance area above the restaurant. It is open from 6am to 9pm daily. It is a nice place and bright. They had treadmills, pulling systems, weights, exercise balls and bikes. It is a great spot if you require a workout during your stay.

Tennis Court

The hotel also comes with a tennis court. It is located on the roof of the main building. It is similarly open from 6am to 9pm. Guests can use the racquets and equipment from the reception on a first come first serve basis. On occasion, the space is also used for hosting events.

Pool

This is technically the first thing you see when you arrive. The pool is located right in the middle of the two buildings. This is one of the most popular spots in the hotel and is constantly packed. The vibes are nice with sun beds and a sofa on either side. The trees on either side make it feel very resorty. You feel like in an oasis among all the office buildings. The pool consists of a regular main pool, a smaller wading pool and even a slide at the side.

The pool bar also offers additional seating and you can order some food and drinks to enjoy. I love the vibes here and this will be great to chill off in the sweltering heat of Bangkok. You can check out the menu over here.

Playtopia

The hotel comes with a kids club or an all-day space known as Playtopia. It is an air-conditioned space with a playing area for kids, You can find a ball pit, video games area and even a working space. This family-friendly spot is useful for everyone of all ages. They are open from 8.30am to 7.30pm. This place is also manned so parents can keep their children here while they get work done or go to the pool and keep a loose eye.

El Santo Restaurant

The hotel comes with a Mexican-inspired restaurant and bar. This place looks very happening and chic with great vibes in the evening. I check out the place briefly in the evening. The prices are not too expensive.

Check out the menu here.

Breakfast at El Santo

This is also where breakfast is offered in the morning from 6.30am to 10.30am daily. It is located in the lobby of building 2. Breakfast costs 588.50 THB if not included in your rate or elite membership. I went down at around 10am. Both sides of the restaurant are used including the bar area. There are also both indoor and outdoor seats available.

Let me share some of the food available. You have some cold cuts, cheese, premade salads, greens and hot dishes. There are both local dishes and western choices. Everything was hot and delicious. I love that they constantly refresh the dishes. There are also freshly made French toast and pancakes by the egg station.

There is even some sushi and pasta. I love the pork stew and noodles. The Tom Yum was lovely too to spice up your morning.

I am headed over to the other side of the restaurant. This is where you can find the fruits, juices, tea and coffee. There are also various continental options like yoghurts and cereals.

Conclusion

This is a solid option for those who are coming to Bangkok and a great addition to the Accor lineup over here. I am glad to have the opportunity to check out and review the first Novotel Living in Thailand. I am a huge fan of the location. It is one of my favourite in the city. There are multiple malls, the BTS and MRT within walking distance. My beloved UOB Lounge is also just a stone’s throw away. I always like staying in newer properties, especially ones that have been recently renovated. I enjoyed my stay in their Studio Deluxe. This will be very ideal for both long-term and short-term stays. Novotel Living Bangkok Sukhumvit Legacy offers a great resort vibe for accommodations in the city. I would highly recommend it for your stay in Bangkok.
