This lounge or facility was recently added to the lineup here at Singapore Changi Airport. It is currently the only spa facility here. Priority Pass has since advanced far from offering just lounges to travellers. There is a whole network of bars, restaurants, hotels, spas and even caviar stores. Anything can be available to members. It depends on the location. I certainly love this concept especially when I have an unlimited priority pass card. Getting a quick shoulder massage every time before I fly is going to be amazing. Singapore Changi Airport has a holistic array of options under Priority Pass across all 4 terminals. It is the perfect place to hop around.
Access Requirements
The Transpa is open daily from 11am to 9am. You can access this lounge via lounge program membership like Priority Pass. I have an unlimited Priority Pass through my Citi Prestige Credit Card or my UOB Reserve Card and use that to access the lounge. A normal entrance will cost 35 USD. There was no wait at the reception and I was admitted entrance after showing my card and boarding pass.
Arrival & Location
The lounge is located in Terminal 2 and on the 3rd level. This is one level above the main terminal floor. It is located right next to the Ambassador Transit Hotel so do check out the signs guiding you to the hotel to spot it. You can then access it via the elevators. I was warmly welcomed in after showing my priority pass card and my boarding pass. It was quiet when I visited. After scanning my cards and boarding pass, the staff informed me of the various options to select. While there should be an option for massage, hair services or express manicure & pedicure, only the first two were available. The staff in charge of doing the manicure/pedicure wasn’t around. No drinks are served too.
Transpa Singapore Changi Airport
I went for the 20-minute head and shoulder treatment. I did not manage to get a picture of the treatment room as it went by pretty fast. But the place was clean and tidy. It is also sanitised and cleaned after each treatment. Do note that at the time of my visit, there is only 1 staff who can do the massage. Do be prepared to wait especially if you come in a group. The massage is done on a proper massage bed and fully flat. You do not have to change out or take off your top. The therapist was pretty skilful and it was a dry massage. No cream or massage oil will be used. This makes it conducive for travellers as I do not want to be sticky and oily for my entire flight. I enjoyed it and was close to falling asleep. The only complaint I had was the duration. It was way too short. I wish it could be longer. Can they just swipe my unlimited Priority Pass card constantly?
Conclusion
Let me see if I can get some more pictures on my next visit. Suffice it to say, going ahead, this will be my standard SOP for departures out of Singapore Changi Airport. Getting a quick shoulder massage before or between flights will be a lifesaver and will work wonders on the mileage. This is something that even Suites or First Class passengers don’t get in SQ lounges. While 20 minutes is over in the blink of an eye, it is better than nothing. Would I pay 35 USD for this? Probably not! But with one of those unlimited passes? Why not!
