This is a rather recent addition to the lounge network over in KLIA. Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 isn’t the fanciest place to fly out from. This is known as the low-cost carrier of KL airport. It is mostly used for flights on budget airlines. The lines here are notoriously bad and when airside it is also one that is never ranked among the best. A far cry from what we are used to having over in Singapore. It is safe to say that this is one place that you should not spend extra time than what you have to. Things are a little better with the addition of some Priority Pass partners here. There are now a couple of lounge and even airport hotels that members can use at both airside and landside. On the other hand, airfares out of KL are one of the cheapest you can get. I paid just 10 SGD for my KUL to SIN air ticket on Scoot. Getting to and from the airport costs more than my airfare. However, this is one of the most unpredictable airports to fly out from. The lines can be as short as 5 minutes to over 1 – 2 hours long. It certainly caught my interest that we could get a fast-track pass at this lounge. This is the primary benefit of visiting the Sky Suite Lounge!

Access Requirements
The Sky Suite Lounge is open 24 hours daily. You can access this lounge via lounge program membership like Priority Pass. I have an unlimited Priority Pass through my Citi Prestige Credit Card or my UOB Reserve and use that to access the lounge. A normal entrance will cost 35 USD. There was no wait at the entrance and I was admitted entrance after showing my card and boarding pass.
Arrival & Location
The lounge is located on level 3, the departure floor. The lounge is rather hidden but you can find a guide below. Simply make your way towards check-in counters at Row S near the domestic arrival area. I was warmly welcomed in after presenting my PP card and the boarding pass. Simply inquire about the Fast Track Pass and the lounge attendant will issue you with one. Do note that this Fast Track Pass is only available till the end of the year. Hopefully, it will be extended. You can then proceed to use the APAC Business Card lines when clearing immigration later.

Sky Suite Lounge Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2
I wasn’t expecting to spend any time here at all since my sole intention is to get the fast-track pass as I am kinda traumatised by my experience. It took me more than 1 hour to clear immigration the previous time I flew out of here. I was pleasantly surprised by this lounge and how lovely it is. It certainly exceeded my expectations. Sadly, the usefulness of it is limited given how it is located airside. You can find couches and sofas sets neatly arranged around the lounge. It feels quite private and cosy. The lounge was very quiet when I visited in the evening. You can find some pictures over here.

They even have some massage chairs on offer for guest’s use. Power outlets and wifi are readily available.

Kudos to them for using these power track setups that make it very convenient to adjust them to your ideal position.

The lounge also has its toilets and showers which is very much appreciated. There is also a praying room. They are clean and well maintained.
Food & Drinks
The food and drinks are also rather impressive for a contract lounge. I did not have anything since I just had dinner earlier. It is a lot better than expected. You can find some stir-fried prawns, potatoes and pasta. There are also some finger foods and fried items.

You can also find some packaged salad, pastries and cut fruits in the fridge.

There are both non-alcoholic drinks and canned beer on offer in the lounge. Non-alcoholic drinks consist of soft drinks, isotonic drinks and juices.

Conclusion
The only reason to visit this lounge is to get the fast-track pass. That is the real use of this lounge. It will come in especially handy given the crazy queues at times over here in KLIA2. I appreciate having a lounge to wait for my flight while boarding starts. With this lounge being landside, the usefulness of the facility will be limited. I hope that the Fast Track Pass availability will be extended, if not, there is no reason at all to use this facility.
