Continuing from my Stay at Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa, I would also like to share about the hotel’s dedicated beach club, Roosterfish Beach Club in this next episode. The beach is located all the way to the South in Pandawa. It is lovely that the hotel has such a facility and this is one of the selling points of this property! With it, you get the best of both worlds of a Uluwatu property! This also means that Marriott Bonvoy members can enjoy perks and benefits at the Beach Club. Currently, based on your membership, you can enjoy up to 20%. There is also the ability to earn points even when you are not staying at the hotel! Marriott Bonvoy members, this is your beach club in Uluwatu!

Shuttle Bus

To help with transportation and guests who wish to head to the beach, the hotel has a shuttle bus service between the hotel and the beach club. You can also use it to check out the Pandawa area. You can check out the shuttle bus timing here. Do inform the staff that you are intending to head over and they will keep a lookout for you, just in case you get left behind.

The meeting point for the shuttle bus is right by the lobby. We took the shuttle bus and got to the beach club in 20 mins. On the way back in the evening it is faster given the lack of traffic. It’s lovely that a shuttle bus is provided and guests do not have to worry about the trouble of arranging transportation.

Roosterfish Beach Club

The beach club is located on the southern end of Bali and it is located at Pandawa Beach. The views on the drive over are rather lovely as we head over to lower grounds over those cliff sides. It looks well maintained and you do have to pay a gantry fee to enter the Pandawa Beach area. It cost 15,000 IDR for adults, 10,000 IDR for kids, 2,000 IDR per motorbike and 5,000 IDR per car. Hotel guests travelling via the shuttle bus are not required to pay this.

I was welcomed in by the staff and given that it is a rather quiet stay, we have our choice of seats or areas. There might be a minimum spend requirement during peak hours. You can refer to this page for more information. I was not informed of any requirements when I was there. Upon entering, you enter the restaurant area of the beach club. I love the design and look of the place. There are both indoor and outdoor dining tables. Do make reservations if you are visiting over the weekends or during holidays.

Check out the various seatings below. You have your choice of Sun Lounges, Daybeds and Cabana. There are even some swings and beanbags. They are enjoyable. We set ourselves out at some daybed to get some sun right in front of the beach. You can even get a massage here.

The place had free wifi as well and the connection is strong. It is great for posting those Instagram pictures and stories of yours. The beach club centres around the gorgeous pool and it is pretty relaxing. I am lucky to visit when the weather is good and the pool was naturally warmed by the sun. It is perfect for lazing in the water. I had some fun floating on the beanbags.

You also have direct beach access from the club. The beach looks really great here and clean. Although the water do look rather rough on the day that I am here.

Food & Drinks

A beach club is never perfect without food and drinks. The Roosterfish boasts a great menu of both western and asian selections. The prices are very reasonable! Furthermore, as mentioned earlier, you can also enjoy your Marriott discount here. Do check out the menu here. They also run a 1 for 1 cocktail happy hour daily from 12pm to 4pm. We got a pitcher of the sangria which was love and could have 4 – 5 glasses out of it. The perfect drink in the afternoon.

Later on, we ordered some food to share and got the Hawaiian Barbeque Chicken Pizza, Calamari and the Balung Babi Panggang. We got to test out some of the local food as well and it sure doesn’t disappoint. In fact, this was our favourite. It was fork-tender and flavourful. The meat goes so well with steamed rice and a side of stir-fried water spinach with sambal. I will recommend everyone to order this.

Conclusion

I enjoyed my time at the beach club and it is great that the hotel has such a facility given how people might not be willing to stay in Uluwatu due to the lack of a beach right by the hotels. It is also lovely to enjoy the benefits of your Marriott Bonvoy membership and soften the blow to your wallets as beach club can usually be pretty pricey. It is not a huge area but the Pandawa area is quite quiet and beautiful. I love the scenic vibes and the staff service is excellent. Check them out if you are in the area.
