This is a rather recent addition to the lounge network over in KLIA. Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 isn’t the fanciest place to fly out from. This is known as the low-cost carrier of KL airport. It is mostly used for flights on budget airlines. The lines here are notoriously bad and when airside it is also one that is never ranked among the best. I flew out of this terminal a couple of times and the L gates are especially bad. A far cry from what we are used to having over in Singapore. A lot of Singapore flights depart from L gates after security. It is safe to say that this is one place that you should not spend extra time than what you have to. There are now a couple of lounges and even airport hotels that members can use on both airside and landside. On the other hand, airfares out of KL are one of the cheapest you can get. I paid just 10 SGD for my KUL to SIN air ticket on Scoot. Getting to and from the airport costs more than my airfare. However, this is one of the most unpredictable airports to fly out from. The lines can be as short as 5 minutes to over 1 – 2 hours long.

Access Requirements
The Travel Club Lounge is open 24 hours daily. You can access this lounge via lounge program membership like Priority Pass. I have an unlimited Priority Pass through my Citi Prestige Credit Card or my UOB Reserve and use that to access the lounge. A normal entrance will cost 35 USD. There was no wait at the entrance and I was admitted entrance after showing my card and boarding pass.
Arrival & Location
The lounge is located near the L gates after clearing the security. It is located near gate L8. You can easily spot the lounge. Simply make your way towards gate L8. I was warmly welcomed in after presenting my Priority Pass card.
Travel Club Lounge Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2
I did not spend more time here but was rather in and out of the place. I will just share some pictures of the lounge. There are sitting areas on both sides of the place with the entrance in the middle. Seatings consist of typical lounge couches and sofas seats by the wall. Power outlets and wifi are readily available. These are a step above the terminal and much more comfortable.

Food & Drinks
The food and drinks are also rather nice for a contract lounge. I did not have anything since I just had dinner earlier. It is a lot better than expected. You can find some cakes, salad bars, fruits, cheese and packaged sandwiches. Hot food items consist of some pasta, chicken and vegetables.

There are both non-alcoholic drinks and canned beer on offer in the lounge. Non-alcoholic drinks consist of soft drinks, iced teas and juices. There are also some packaged tea and coffee.

Conclusion
The lounge does come in rather handy if you are departing from the L gates. You will have to clear security before heading to the gates and after that, you can only stay in this area. Plenty of flights to Singapore use this area. There isn’t much in this area and the lounge is a great addition. This also allows you to get some drinks and food while waiting for your flight to board and avoid overpriced airport prices. It might not be much but that is still better than nothing. With that, this brings an end to my KL trip series!
