Surprise surprise, but I am back at Conrad Hong Kong. This is one of my favourite hotels in town and it is no surprise that it is the best one for Hilton members in this city. Hilton can expand its footprint and have more properties. The price range for this property is on the higher side as Hong Kong is a very premium market. I stayed here similarly on my last trip 2 years ago. I shall not dwell too much on it this time around. This is my go-to property in Hong Kong since I prefer staying on the HK Island side. I stayed here twice during this trip. On my first stay, I got an Executive Harbour View room which I had already stayed before. You can find my review over here with more information on the property. On my second stay, I got an even nicer upgrade to a Peak View Suite. This will be my first time in this category. Besides Conrad, I also stayed at the HGI earlier on the previous trip and it is a very good property too. Check out my review of it here. Hilton’s footprint is pretty much very lacking over here in HK. Let’s see how the suite is.

Booking Process & Pre Arrival

I booked the base level room again this time around and a couple of days out I can see from the app that I have been upgraded to an Executive Peak View Room a couple of days out. This is nice of them. It’s said that the highest upgrade a diamond member can get over here is the Executive Peak View Suite. The Harbour Suite are out of the upgrade pool for Diamond members. If you have a choice between a harbour view or a suite, I feel that it is worth going for the view as it is quite mesmerizing. To recap, Conrad Hong Kong comes with 513 luxuriously appointed guest rooms and suites spread across 10 categories. You can check out the breakdown below.

Checking In

I came back for another one night after my Shenzhen trip before flying back home. This time around, I took the MTR from the high-speed train station and got to the hotel at around 1pm. It is very convenient with the station directly connected to the mall and then the hotel. It was very busy at this time. The bellboy came over to help me with my bags and also to usher me up to the Executive Lounge for check in. It is much more pleasant over here.

The friendly associate at the lounge immediately assisted me with checking in and also provided me with the necessary information. I wanted to try something new and enquire if a suite upgrade was available. I was soon upgraded to one of the Executive Peak View Suites which is lovely. Late check out was also extended to 4pm for my stay.

Executive Peak View Suite

I was assigned an Executive Peak View Suite over here on the 40th floor. This is the highest upgrade available and the entry-level suite over here at this property. The suite faces the other side which comes with a view of the peak area. This suite measures a spacious 70 Sqm. It almost seems like it is made by combining two rooms. The entrance lets you out into the middle of the suite before you branch out into the living room and the bedroom. Both of the two areas can be closed off into separate spaces. This will be great if you have a huge group and want to prevent them from disturbing each other. This suite can also be connected to the room next door into a two-bedroom suite.

The living room is towards the right. It also comes with a powder room. As per usual, it comes with Byredo amenities. This will be handy for guests and large groups. I also appreciate having another bathroom.

The living room was cosy and boosts amazing view of the mid-levels with view of the high risers and fancy apartment buildings. With the greens and the misty clouds, it makes it lovely with the unblock views. This part of HK is often said as one of the most expensive areas in the city.

The living room comes with a sofa set that will fit 5 pax comfortably around a coffee table. This is perfect for lounging and catching up with your friends over a small gathering. The high-quality TV comes with a great number of both local and international TV channels. There is a kick-ass sound system. It does feel a little small for a suite of this size.

In the corner, you can find the working desk. It is a nice space to work from. The chair paired offers decent back support for a short period of working. All sorts of plugs and power outlets are within reach. The Wi-Fi also works very well with a great connection.

The bedroom area is more or less the same as the rooms. Right after the entrance, you can find a small sliding wardrobe. It is on the smaller side and hard to access. There are plenty of amenities inside from a safe to plenty of hangers. I would also like to point out that they have a Dyson hairdryer over here. This is only available for the suites. It is nice to have a little premium perk.

On the opposite side of the entrance, you can also find the minibus set up. It comes with an espresso coffee machine and bottles of water. It is also fully stocked with all sorts of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. I love that TWG teas are provided. These are replenished during daily housekeeping and turndown service.

The bathroom is almost a replica. It comes with his and her sinks. There is a full set of amenities and toiletries are from Byredo, the usual brand in Conrad Hotels. There is both a standing shower and a bathtub. One thing that I didn’t like was that the shower head was fixed on the wall. I would prefer one with a handheld shower head and a rainforest shower head. Hopefully, this can be improved during the next makeover.

The bedroom comes with another TV which is almost a replica of the one in the living room with the exception of the sound system. While it is at an angle, you can pivot it to face the bed for a cosy movie night. There is also a luggage rack area by the side of the TV console.

Similarly, the room faces the peak and mid-level housing. It was equally charming, especially on the day that I visited with the misty clouds. It is quite therapeutic looking at it with the greens.

The plush king-size bed is grand and super comfy. I love that it is slightly higher than usual. The bedding is super good and the same goes for the mattress. I love that it offers excellent back support. They provide a nice combination of pillows. I also got some firmer ones to complement my sleeping experience. The pillow menu consists of Firm Feather, Very Firm Feather, Latex Foam, Loft Fiber and Pocket Spring pillows.

Conclusion

I have always enjoyed this property. The location is perfect and I love the executive lounge. Upgrades might not come in easy but they are pretty good with late checkout. I will highly recommend it if you can spring for it. It is no doubt that HK is a very premium market and prices here are on the higher side. I want Hilton to expand their footprint in this city! They can also polish up on their breakfast perhaps with some ala carte options in the Executive Lounge. The rooms are also in need of a makeover soon. I can’t wait for my next stay!
