Welcome to my newest travel guide. I am glad to finally check out this city. It has been so long. I have always wanted to visit Shanghai after visiting Beijing a couple of years back. This will be my 211th unique city in the world! Shanghai is the most bustling city in China and their financial hub. It is also known to be the pearl of the Orient. The rise of Shanghai is unbelievable. It is magical how they can achieve so much in such a long time. The skyscrapers here are outstanding and you can find all sorts of hotels and brands popping up here and there. It is the gem and the most sparkling spot in China. I will be spending 7 days over here. Follow me on my journey in Shanghai. Travelling in Shanghai
Public transportation in Shanghai is extensive and affordable. The metro lines probably can cover most of the places that you will visit in Shanghai. Sadly, I do not have any relevant information to share on this as I mainly rely on Didi, the China and Singapore equivalent of Uber and Grab. It is super affordable and reliable. I love it as it is always so convenient. The prices here are much higher, which also reflects the higher standard of living in Shanghai. This is after all the most expensive city in China. The coverage is extensive and it is straightforward to get a ride. Do set up the app prior and add all the payment methods. You can also link it to Alipay. I only go for their Premium rides as they are cleaner. It is not too much of a premium above the usual. The stations are mostly staffed with security scanners which makes it a hassle especially when you have huge bags.
