I have been very excited to check out this lounge. It is one of the highlights of this trip. This is one of the newest lounges in the SQ network recently renovated. They reopened in August 2024 after a £3.5 million renovation. London Heathrow is one of SQ’s biggest and most premium markets. It is nice to see that they are offering a premium lounge product for their most premium passengers over here. LHR is not known to be one of the nicest airports in the world which makes it even more appreciated to have a nice space to wait for your flight. I have been on a journey to check out more SKL worldwide. Besides this, you can also check out the Bangkok SKL and Seoul SKL. Both of them are my favourites around the world. This is the London Lounge’s first major refresh since 2015. The newly renovated lounge still comes with both a first-class and business-class area. This should be an upgrade for SQ passengers and first class/suites guests as during the reno, they only have access to the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge.

Access Requirements

The London Heathrow SilverKris Lounge is open daily from 5.30am to 10pm. This virtually covers all SQ departures. If you are departing around the same time as an SQ flight, you will be able to access it. This is subject to changes, depending on SQ flight schedules. This is a standard Star Alliance Lounge. Currently, all Star Alliance premium cabin customers, KrisFlyer Elite Gold, PPS Club and Star Alliance Status holders are allowed access to the lounge. Typical access rules for guests follow. I got access on account of my KrisFlyer Gold status and I was also flying in Business Class.

Arrival & Location

The lounge is located in the Terminal 2B area where SQ flights depart from. It is quite a walk from the main terminal area. Do make sure to cater some time for that if you want to chill in the main terminal area first. There are clear signs to the lounge. Simply head up the elevators and you can find the lounge entrance. I was warmly welcomed in by the staff and shown entrance after presenting my boarding pass. You can find the business class section to the right and the first class section to the left.

Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge London Heathrow

The revamped facility accommodates 242 passengers in both the first class and business class sections. This is a 16% increment as compared to the old facility. The dedicated First Class section at the Heathrow SilverKris lounge has been retained, with a capacity for 50 passengers. The business class area is found to the right. Right here you can find an overflow area. This is also the most quiet part of the lounge. There is barely anyone here. You can find a drinks area here. I won’t recommend this spot unless the lounge is packed

After an elongated entranceway, you enter the main space of the lounge. This is the larger area. Right to the left is the refreshment counter and then the bar area. Let me come back to this later on.

Around the area here, you can find dining tables along the wall and a large communal table in the middle. The space is great for both dining and lounging. It is a very busy period in the lounge with two back-to-back SQ departures.

The lounge also comes with a gorgeous bar and a view of the tarmac area. The rest of the lounge is filled up with more couches.

There are also some semi-private cubicles that are suitable for both dining and working. These are very useful for solo travellers.

The lounge comes with a toilet and showers. The showers are in individual suites. They have a total of 4 of them. The showers are gorgeous. They are also nicely maintained by the staff. It comes with a handheld shower head and a rainforest shower head. The toiletries are from the Zero% Collection. There is also a toilet and hairdryer inside.

The toilets are clean and well maintained too with similar designs. There are also hairdryers here. I am surprised that there aren’t any amenities to be found. I would have expected some from Penhaligon’s.

Food & Drinks

The food and drinks as well as the refreshment counters are located at the end of the entranceway as shared earlier. I was here during the breakfast serving and they had some typical English breakfast available. They have some really nice chicken congee, this caught my eye immediately after a long time in Europe. There are also some cheese, cold cuts and some Asian options. The sambal chicken and noodles were lovely.

Drink-wise, they have fresh juices, coffee, tea selection and soft drinks. I am glad to see that there are some local Singapore tiger beers here alongside their foreign counterparts. More substantial alcoholic options can be found in the bar. There are spirits and wines.

Conclusion

It is certainly nice to see that Singapore Airlines is operating its facility over here. It offers a much more familiar environment for SQ’s most premium passengers. This makes sense given how premium this route is. They also have several flights per day. Other Star Alliance premium passengers will also get to enjoy this. It is a nice environment to wait for your flight in this environment rather than a mediocre airport. While I won’t stretch to the extent of coming here early rather than the standard departure timings. It is a very nice lounge with solid above-average drinks and food options. I would love to try and visit the First Class section in the future. I have been on a journey to check out more SKL around the world. Besides this, you can also check out the Bangkok SKL and Seoul SKL. Both of them are my favourites around the world. Soon, I will also be checking out the Hong Kong SKL which recently reopened.
