Jan 2025 Update: New breakfast exclusive area for Diamond members. Breakfast is now served until 11am daily. New Executive Lounge timing, Breakfast till 11am, Afternoon Tea from 2pm to 4pm and Evening Cocktail from 6pm to 8pm.
While Staycation are no longer my thing to do anymore these days, I still made it a point to check out the newest Hilton property in Singapore. The Conrad Singapore Orchard recently joined the lineup over here. The hotel market is certainly very exciting in recent months with plenty of new properties popping up here and there. This was recently rebranded from Regent Singapore and is barely 2 months old. I am surprised that they have come up with another Conrad in Singapore rather than a WA. With that being said, the Singapore market could certainly do with more luxury hotels to taper down the prices. This will be a welcoming sight for Hilton members. The property has since undergone a renovation and touch-up from the Regent days. I wanted to stay here on the opening day but instead flew off to London. The hotel is currently running an opening special and offering 5000 bonus points for stays till the end of June. While I have been here for drinks a couple of times in Manhattan, this is my first time staying here.

Booking Process & Pre Arrival
I received an email from the hotel a week out from my stay to provide me with all the information and also to get my arrival details. I booked directly with Hilton for this stay and got the base-level room. The day before, I could see that I had been upgraded to an Executive Room. On the day of my arrival, I was further upgraded to a Deluxe Suite. This goes for around 800 SGD. They have also extended an early check-in at noon. As mentioned earlier, they are offering a 5000 points opening special. With the current global promo, I will earn an extra 7500 points for this stay alone. Parking is also included with unlimited in and out benefits for guests. Excellent value and elite recognition for being a Diamond member. Conrad Singapore Orchard features 445 guest rooms and suites spread across 8 categories. You can find the breakdown below.

Checking In
I got to the hotel shortly after noon. The bellboy immediately came over to help us with our bags and ushered us over to the reception counter which is just located to the left of the entrance. I was helped to after a short wait. There is no priority line over here but eligible guests can check in at the lounge. There is some seating around the lobby area. I love that the CNY festive decorations are already up. I was helped by a friendly lady who reconfirmed my upgrade to a Deluxe Suite. Late check-out was also extended till 3pm.

The lobby comes with an open atrium concept with the bubble elevators in the middle. It does bring out some dated charm and reminds me of the style at Parkroyal Collection Marina Bay and Pan Pacific Singapore.
Deluxe Suite
I was assigned a Deluxe Suite located on the 9th floor. Suite 926 to be exact. Do take the extra second to see where your room is for the nearest way since the elevators are in the middle. My suite is straight ahead and I love the lingering citrus scent that I caught on right after entering. The suite is very spacious and measures a lovely 81 Sqm. This includes both the indoor and balcony areas. It seems that they have combined two rooms from the regent days into one. The entrance area adds some flair to the room. I love the cabinet and the painting on the wall. It would be nice if they could have a bench over here to help with the footwear when leaving or entering.

Immediately, you can find a spacious entranceway with a powder room to the right. This will certainly come in handy when you are hosting guests or having a gathering. It comes nicely equipped with a single sink and amenities.

The living room is in a regular rectangular layout. This allows for great use of space. I love the soft cream colouring and finishing. The suite can also be connected to a connecting room next door to convert this into a two-bedroom suite if you need some extra space. It comes with a huge sofa set that can probably fit 6 to 7 people comfortably. There are also two coffee tables in the middle. This can be a daybed for the little ones.

Left on the table is a very generous welcome amenity consisting of some fruits, chocolates and pastries from the hotel. This is alongside a personalised note. I love that they had placed the pastries in the fridge to retain their freshness and left a note on the table to inform guests.

The living room comes with a high-quality smart screen Samsung television. There is a good number of both local and international cable TV channels. The TV is extremely high-quality and although it is located in a corner, the swivel mount allows you to extend it out and pivot it.

Moving on to the view, there doesn’t seem much to be much of the vicinity but rather just the surrounding residential building. This is an area where Orchard Hotel suffers. I do love that the blinds and sheers are electronically controlled. The balcony area comes with a small table as well as two chairs. This will be great for an early-morning outdoor breakfast or even lazing over a bottle of wine in the evening.

On the other side of the living room, you can find the minibar area. It comes with a filtered drinking water tap and all sorts of glassware and cutleries. The minibar is fully stocked with a Nespresso coffee machine and a Fellow Stagg EKG kettle. For those which it matters, this kettle allows you to heat water to your ideal chosen temperature. This is paired with a good selection of TWG tea and capsules.

The bedroom is segregated from the living room by a sliding door in the middle. You can immediately find the plush kind size bed in the middle. The bedding and mattresses are top-notch. The same goes for the pillows which offer great neck support. Furthermore, you can also customise your sleep experience by choosing additional amenities from the pillow menu. They have a choice of Feather Bolster, Ploh Pillow, Foam Bolster, Memory Pillow, Cuddle ‘U’ Pillow, Natural Buckwheat Pillow, Pocketed Spring Pillow (Non-Allergic), Contour Pillow (Non-Allergic), Non-Allergic Pillow (Firm Support), Non-Allergic Pillow (Medium Support), Feather Pillow (Firm Support), Feather Pillow (Very Firm Support) and Soft Feather Pillow

Flanking both sides of the bed, you can find nightstands. Controls for the lighting and blinds are conveniently located within reach. They also have a lovely set-up for power sockets with an international adapter, USB ports and even wireless charging pads on both sides. Full marks on this aspect.

By the side of the bed, you can find an additional armchair. This is accompanied by a working desk in the corner. It comes alongside a chair that offers decent back support for a short period of work. Power outlets are nicely designed here and the wifi connection is excellent. Business travellers will have no issue with this set-up.

There is another balcony in the bedroom. This comes with a lazing daybed as well as a single chair and coffee table. I felt like it would be nicer if they could connect both balconies into a single long one.

On the other side of the bedroom area, you can find an ottoman as well as another high-quality smart screen television mounted on the wall. Similarly, the mount allows the television to be pivoted to face the bed for a great movie night. The TV is equally high quality but slightly smaller than the one in the living room.

The bathroom and walk-in wardrobe is on the side. This comes with a spacious luggage storage area on the side. You can find bath slippers and additional amenities over here. The walk-in wardrobe is of a good size and packed with plenty of hangers, an umbrella, an ironing kit and a safe. Another portable luggage stand can be found here too.

There is also a Dyson hairdryer left for guest’s use. Excellent amenity to see in a luxury hotel.

The bathroom comes with only a single sink. All sorts of amenities are provided and toiletries are from Byredo in large pump-size bottles as per the usual in Conrad properties. The bathroom only comes with a standing shower and it is located behind fully enclosed glass doors. It comes with both a handheld shower head and a rainforest one. Water pressure and temperature control are excellent.

Turn-down service is automated in the evening and they even left some of their morning ritual amenities and tea in the room.
Fitness Centre
The fitness centre is located on the second floor. It is open 24 hours but only manned from 6.30am to 10pm. You can access it with your key card. It is a nice place and bright. The staff welcomed us in and gave us an introduction to the place. The equipment here is only 1 month old. It is very well equipped.

There is even a small yoga and pilates area. This will be great for kickstarting your day. They have classes from time to time that guests are invited to join. Water and towels are provided.

Pool
The pool is similarly located on the second floor. It is open from 7am to 9pm daily. It seems to be slightly touched up from the Regent days. It is well maintained by the staff and the service is excellent here. You can also order food and drinks by the side of the pool. There are plenty of sunbeds and cabanas by the side which is great to get some sun.

Executive Lounge
The executive lounge is open and located on the 11th floor. This area looks much more modern and nicer than the rest of the hotel itself. Here are some pictures of the executive lounge. It consists of dining tables and sofas around the area. I love the soothing cream finishes of the furniture and decor. Some of the seats come with power outlets within reach. The lounge is open from 6.30am to 10pm daily.

All day drinks and snacks are served all day long. This consists of tea, coffee and soft drinks. Great place for work if you need a change of scenery. I love those old-school gem cookies.

Afternoon tea service is from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. They had some sandwiches, scones, cakes and desserts. I love that the selections change daily. The curry chicken quiche that they had on the second day was especially good! I am kinda craving for it as I type this!

The highlight of the lounge is the evening service. This can easily be a dinner replacement and in fact, dinner was the term the staff used to label it. The staff are readily available to help with drinks and simple cocktails. They do up a fantastic Aperol Spritz. I have nothing but good things to say about the staff. They are polished and attentive.

Similarly, the food items change every day and they rotate around. I love that the food items are specially catered by Basilico and Summer Palace. The fried rice as well as the hot and sour seafood soup is my favourite. I had multiple portions of it. It is so good that I made a reservation to dine at Summer Palace.

Drinks-wise consists of spirits, red wine, white wine, sparkling wine and beers. The staff also offer simple cocktails and mixers.

I also check out the breakfast service at the lounge. It offers a much more exclusive and private environment. The selection is a lot smaller than the restaurant. Service is a lot better here and they also have a chef on hand to whip up some egg dishes. Here are some pictures of what is available. They did have some strawberries here which is not seen at the restaurant.

Manhattan Bar
I have been here a couple of times before the hotel even opened. It is one of my favourite bars in Singapore. I love the vibes and ambience here. It is so cosy and comfortable. Perfect for a cosy date and conducive for chats too. It is also ranked in the World’s 50 Best Bar. You can find the drinks menu and food menu here. Prices are on the higher side but the 25% for Gold and Diamond members helps.
Breakfast at Basilico Update Jan 2025
I recently went back for another stay earlier this week. There are some slight changes to the breakfast at Basilico. While the annoying beef noodle is still around, they have recently added a new exclusive seating area for Diamond Members. It is found to the side with about seatings for 20 pax or so. It comes with some additional exclusive items too. This includes pastries, freshly squeezed juices and sparkling wine. I love the freshly made juices!

A new Indian station can also be found in the restaurant offering freshly made Dosa. I love it. The chef made it fresh upon order and it is so delicious. I wish that they could do something about the beef noodles. They should alternate things around and offer stations like Prawn Mee, Fish Ball Noodles, Ba Chor Mee, Laksa and Nasi Lemak. The options are endless but they still kept offering the same old beef noodles. While delicious, it is boring to have the same one every day and this is not good for non-beef eaters.

Breakfast at Basilico
Breakfast is served at Basilico from 6.30am to 10.30am daily. For executive-level guests or Diamond members, you can choose to have them either here or at the lounge. I was down for breakfast at around 9am. The crowd is right since it is a weekday. Breakfast is served buffet style. I was ushered into a table and drinks orders were taken.

Let me share some pictures of the buffet lineup. There are plenty of items on offer. Some of my favourites include kaya bread and congee.

Conclusion
This is a great option for Hilton members. It is always nice to have another luxury hotel in town. I love the lounge a lot and the staff service is excellent. I can’t wait to be back again. The hotel’s location makes it suitable for exploring the orchard area. It is about a 15-minute stroll from Ion or just a short bus ride away. It is especially sweet for stays till June with the bonus points. The suite is lovely and comfortable.
