Glad to be back here again at the Qatar Premium Lounge. This is one of my favourite lounges and Singapore and I have to say that for a business class standard. It is an excellent facility. The standards are there and it feels more first-class than business. It is the best business class lounge in Singapore Changi Airport. With that being said, look at it as non-standard as you can access it with status. You have to be on a paid premium class ticket. I had a great experience here when I was flying to Japan with Japan Air previous. That is in the evening. You can find my review here. This time around, I will be visiting in the morning during breakfast service. This will about to get me a peak of how it is in the morning. The business class with ala carte dining, showers and a full bar. Let’s go!
Access Requirements
The Qatar Singapore Premium Lounge is open daily from 7.45am to 10.45am and 6pm to 2.30am. You get access if you are flying in the Oneworld premium cabin. Sadly, Qatar Airways does not grant lounge access to passengers who have upgraded from Economy to Business Class and passengers on Business Class Lite Fares. Oneworld elite status holders are also denied access and are invited to the SATS Premier Lounge. You should visit the other Oneworld lounges in Changi instead if that is your situation. I was flying in Qatar Business Class and was accorded access to the lounge.
Arrival & Location
The Qatar Airways Singapore Premium Lounge is located one level above the departure area in the C gates area. You can find the lounge easily after heading up the escalator. The lounge is located together with the Emirates Lounge and Plaza Premium Lounge in the same area. I was right here at around 7.45am. The Qatar Lounge shows its calibre from the moment I entered the lounge. This feels more like first class rather than business class. I was warmly greeted by the lounge attendant when I entered. They then ushered me and gave me a little introduction to the facility. I was asked if I would like to grab breakfast and then shown to a seat. I was the first guest here and took the chance to get some pictures of the place. This level of personalised service in a business-class lounge is commendable.

Just by the entrance they also have some lockers and a closet area with some storage that might be useful if you want to store some items while waiting for your flight. This is handy if you do not want to drag your stuff all around.
Heading into the main lounging area you can find some displays and couches arranged neatly. The place feels more like a luxury showroom and comes with a residential vibe. It felt very posh and comfortable. The luxury is understated here. It feels like a posh designer feels rather than over the blink.
There is also a self-serve drinks station here with non-alcoholic options and some snacks. Kudos to them for providing artisan sparkling and non-sparkling mineral water.
Along the wall, they had these solo cubicle seatings which felt very private. These are perfect for solo travellers. It comes with a plush armchair, power outlets and a side table. This is great for both dining and getting some work done. They have tons of privacy too.
Heading in, you can find the dining area, which makes up the bulk of the lounge space. The dining area is designed around the gorgeous circular bar, which is the centrepiece. It is a great place to grab some drinks and to socialise. Service is great here, and the staff are pleased to offer drinks.
There are plenty of dining tables in this area with a capacity for around 40 pax. As time passed, the lounge got more and more busy.
You can find more lounge seating after the dining area. This can fit around 20 pax or so. There are wifi charging pads around the area. I couldn’t get it to work though.
The toilets and showers are located towards the end of the lounge. This is very well decorated and nice. Toilets are located in individual rooms and are very nicely stocked with Diptyque amenities.
There are only two shower cubicles. They are located on the smaller side. Do expect to wait if you need one during the peak period. The showers are rather nice and similarly stocked with Diptyque toiletries. The spacious standing shower comes with both a rainforest shower head and a handheld one. One of the showers comes with the toilet inside so this is the one to go for. The showers are very popular, especially during the evening time.
Food & Drinks
This is the most impressive aspect of the lounge that wows me the most. Can you imagine having ala carte dining with full table service in a business class lounge? While it is not unheard of, it is also on the rare side. You can find the menu for the lounge over here. Do note that they have changed the menu since my visit. While you can dine anywhere you like around the lounge, the proper dining tables come with seatings for around 30 pax or so. You can also find a small buffet lineup to supplement it. This is great for passengers who are in a rush. You can find some pictures of the buffet here. You can find fruits, cheese, salad and bread.
Service is warm and polished. They are very attentive. I was offered either sparkling or no -sparkling water. I also got a coffee which is kind of disappointing since it is from an instant machine. This is one aspect that I hope they can improve on. Holidays call for bubbles and I also got some roses. I love that they offer both brut and rose options here. The Taittinger Prestige Rose is excellent.
The breakfast menu is kind of limited and definitely not as spectacular as their lunch and dinner options. We got some items to share among us.
Conclusion
I have finally found what they can improve in this lounge which would be barista-made coffee. It is an excellent business-class lounge. To have this level of ala carte dining in a business class category is spectacular. This is certainly a treat and with the low number of passengers having access, they can make it slightly more premium and exclusive! Perhaps SQ should have a lounge just for business class passengers in its sector? If you have the opportunity to visit this lounge, do make sure to cater some additional time for it. The lunch and dinner service would be worth the effort. I also hope that Qatar can expand this lounge to be used as an arrival lounge for their customers. This will be possible with the Changi Airport design and a nice touch.
