After spending the first part of my trip in the outskirts exploring Margaret River it is time to head back to Perth! I will be checking out the city centre, Swan Valley and doing a drive up to visit The Pinnacles. Swan Valley near distance to the CBD area makes it a great day trip for travellers. There are plenty of wineries and places to check out in the area. Perth is a hugely popular destination for Singaporeans. Perth is just a 5 hours plane ride away. It is also the major city and entrance into Western Australia. I do like Perth a lot with the laid back vibes.

Sandalford Wines

I visited Sandalford Wines in Swan Valley. It is impressive how close wineries are to Perth. It is just in the backyard of the CBD area. Swan Valley is great for Perth visitors who are staying in Perth and do not want to venture out that far. They are one of the most well-known wine-producing regions in Australia. The landscape is immediately different as you pull up to the estate of Sandalford! It is so gorgeous. This place is perfect for events and an outing.

I was kindly invited by Jessie who first went through a tasting with us in the cellar door. We started with some bubbles. The Sandalford Chardonnay Pinot Noir NV was dry and refreshing.

Sandalford is a multi-award-winning winery and is one of the best in Australia. We further went on to try various wines of the winery including the signature Prendiville Reserve. This is aged in oak barrels and their flagship wines. It was first released in 2003 and we are now tasting their 2018 vintage. There are only 6000 bottles released worldwide. This is a wine for an occasion. I love how their wines here all have a bottle number. That makes it very exclusive. Pick one with your favourite number.

After that, we went on a walk to the production facility where we got to see the barrels and wine-making process.

If you are here also check out the Almeria vines which are more than 100 years old! This is more of an icon rather than one that is producing grapes for wines.

Conclusion

Besides this, I will also share my dining experience at Wildflower which is supposedly Perth’s best fine dining restaurant. I had really good meals in Perth. The Chinese food is especially good! Besides what is covered here in the post. I love Fremantle a lot too. I also did a lobster cruise in Mandurah which I will also share in a separate post. Perth is a great destination for Singapore. The rather near distance makes it a very attractive destination for us. You do have to choose the timing well and I would love to be here in slightly cooler weather. Goodbye, till we meet again Perth!
