I had a cosy week in Vancouver, as a result of the ANA error fare! This is my first time travelling to Canada as well as Vancouver. So excited to be visiting a new place. Vancouver has always been on my bucket list after hearing so much about it. I have always heard how amazing this city is with the greenery and the quality of life. Vancouver is also a highly popular place for Chinese emigrants and even my favourite TVB actress Linda Chung’s choice of city to stay in. Chinatown is one of the best places in North America. This makes Vancouver the 36th unique country and 152nd unique city that I visited in the world. This time around I will only check out Vancouver, I can’t wait to be back and explore the rest of the country. Join me in my adventures.

Transportation in Vancouver

Vancouver has a well-established public transport system consisting of both bus and metro. The Compass Cards work as the main payment method for public transport in the city. This applies to buses, metro and even ferries. It is a reloadable card. You can also make payment for public transport simply by tapping your contactless credit cards. This might be easier than getting a Compass Card since refunds are troublesome and the cost of getting the card might not prove beneficial unless you take public transport often.

From Vancouver Airport, the SkyTrain is the best way and takes you comfortably into the city centre. Prices are on the higher side. There is a slight discount for using the Compass Card. Often, I simply walk around the city centre and even as far as Chinatown and Granville. The weather is perfect.

Conclusion

I love Vancouver! It is such a great place to live in. I enjoyed all the greenery! It might be a tat boring and expensive but this will be a good place for a night or two. It is also one of the main getaways to the country and a major destination for Alaskan cruises. I had a really lovely time. Do note that hotel prices are through the roof and Canada is one of the more expensive places to travel to. There is more to the country than just Vancouver itself. I would love to come back and explore more places in Canada. Some of them are much easier with a car! The weather was amazing during my time here. See you when I see you, Vancouver!
