This is my second time back to Brussels. The city that meant a lot to me! I will not be doing another sharing on Brussels itself seeing that I have already done a very in depth one the previous time. You can check that out here. I would however like to share about my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Brussels City Centre, a fairly new property in the city! I wanted to come back to Brussels even though I have already been here before, given how special it is, I would like to retrace my steps on my trip 2 years ago. Surprisingly, the rates for my stay was super good. Totally unbelievable, the rate is 70 Euros or 105SGD a night for my stay! For Brussels, that is really affordable, might be more worth it than some hostels. Furthermore, I will still be able to earn points and enjoy my benefits.

The Hilton Garden Inn Brussels City Centre have a very good location, it is located in the Porta del Hal district, just across the street from a metro station. The major Midi train station where you can get to other cities or the Eurostar is an easy 10 to 15mins walk away. In the vicinity you can also find the major shopping district and the Justice Palace, a favourite place of mine where you can get the best view in Brussels. Location can’t get any better. I was back in the city to meet up with a fellow friend that is also passing by Brussels.

It is easy to find the property from the metro, I was there really early in the morning, probably about 9am! It is right smack in the heat wave this few days in Europe! Check in was smooth and I was thank for my loyalty. They are still in the midst of getting the room ready. The lobby is modest as per most of the Hilton Garden Inn. You can definitely tell that it is a fairly new property. Water was given at reception which I can never understand why in a HGI! Beside the lobby is the bar and restaurant where breakfast service was going on. I was invited to have a bite while waiting. The room was ready in about half an hour.

I was upgraded to a Garden View Suite which is awesome especially given the price that I was paying. It is located at the annex part which is a short walk.

It is kind of a “Suite” since the living area as well as the bed is in one big room together. It is really spacious, perfect especially for those who are looking for a long stay. I was impressed by the room. I love the wooden finishing style! It felt clean and modern. Something like a little Hyatt.

Immediately after entering, the toilet is on the right. Since this is a suite, there would be a half bath in the living area and I think they are trying to cut down on installing two toilet as such the toilet and shower are separated.

Then around the corner is a large rectangular shaped room. The wet kitchen is towards the right, together with a large fridge and a proper dining table. There is an induction stove as well as a multifunction oven. It is really spacious. You can find everything that you need. They also offered a kitchen set if you plan to do some cooking. I love how this allows me to save a little on my expenses given how expensive it is to dine out in Brussels. What I think they could do better is to put up instruction for the stove and the oven by the side, something that would be really useful like my recent Residence Inn stay.

Towards one end of the room is a little couch and coffee table. It can sit about 3 people. Then along side the window is a little panal. I love the design of the room where they incorporate the working desk by the window. This also give plenty of storage in the room. You can find the tv by the side as well where the mounting can be shifted depending on whether you wanted to watch by the couch or the bed. The room is suppose to have a garden view, although it is kinda underwhelming and the window is dirty as well.

Right on the other end is a super comfortable and lush king size bed. I love that the bed is nice and firm as well as the 4 pillows which I used all of them. It is a very comfortable bed and I was well rested during my stay. However there are no outlets to be found nearby which is kind of annoying.

By the side of the bed you can also find a full wardrobe. Plenty of room, especially convenient for those doing a long stay. You can find a safe and ironing set here as well. I will also point out that the room have plenty of natural light, loving the bright room. It is also kind of distasteful that they use the kind of “non removable” hangers. Such a cookiecutter.

The shower is located by the bed, it is perhaps the most underwhelming part of the suite. Nothing much to talk about. Both hairdryer and toiletries are provided as well. They were Crabtree and Evelyn branded as per the norm. The bathroom is spacious although a little inconvenient since the toilet is separated from the shower. But I understand that from a suite point of view. The water pressure is decent but not excellent. Bathroom also got a little wet all over after showering since there is not a full panel or curtain.

Breakfast was served from 6 to 10.30am in the lobby restaurant. I got complimentary breakfast due to my gold status. On both days it is pretty crowded.

The selection is alright and not the best that I have seen in a Hilton Garden Inn. The usuals stuff applites. You can find a couple of cold cuts, pastries, juices, fruit and about 4 hot dishes. Not too amazing! The selection was the same for both days. At least the coffee was not too shabby.

Overall I had an awesome stay, you can never complain too much when I got a nice upgrade and the price that I pay! I can’t believe how impressed I am with this Hilton Garden Inn. I can see that it would be even better when they just open! The wifi was strong and easy to connect. I will recommend everyone to stay here given this price point. Some improvement is needed in regards of Housekeeping. It would also be nice if they installed key card access in the lift for security. Although they do lock the main door after 11pm!
